So, let me get this straight. Several posters on here have been treated rudely by this man's staff, and instead of coming to a forum where he could win a ton of business with a simple apology, he goes on a rant dissing the very people who put money in his pocket? He had the perfect opportunity to make this right, and instead he chose to bash people who posted a factual experience. I have to hand it to some people, their inability to admit fault on behalf of their establishment and win people over makes me wonder. If anything, he should have given the appropriate staff an arse chewing. The restaurant business IS customer service. Humility must not be his strong suit.

Basically yes. As other posters have mentioned, plenty of managers and owners have posted on here and everything usually turns out very well for all parties.
Even for the most minor things. I had a thread(maybe a post) a few years ago about how my wraps at Roly Poly were always overflowing with sauce and it was messy as hell every time I ate it. One of the managers/owners replied and wanted to know what store it was. I was kind of hesitant to tell him because I didnt want a worker to get in trouble but he assured that it wouldnt happen and he would just like to correct the problem at the store if it was a reoccurring thing. Completely civil and a guy that was just looking out for his customers and business. I think his name on here is Roly Poly
Gris gris, yea OP had no intention of that. I think its just easy for Wesley to throw that out there because it immediately downplays the OP's situation.

I remember Roly Poly posting here. I have a great deal of respect for the folks who are managers/owners who come here trying to rectify or simply address a poor experience in a positive manner. It's not easy to do when you think about it. I've had to do it in my own business regularly. Takes swallowing pride, turning defenses off and giving a great deal of thought to the right solution for each situation. Sometimes, there isn't one that will calm the savage beast, but I find that the simple act of acknowledging the concern goes a long way. When upper managing gives attention to a situation sincerely, a positive results most of the time. Not 100%, but nothing is.

This is an entertaining thread, but it's much ado about nothing in my opinion. Wesley getting bent out of shape is classic stuff for the O-T. He took the bait instead of taking a deep breath. In the end though, this thread won't hurt Pastime business. People that go there regularly will still go there. Now, where's that Ambrosia owner at?

They have really good reason to withhold extra "gravy". First of all it's not gravy, which I think is obvious. its really au jus or tallow. They use the juices of the roast for several menu items. That stuff is valuable to them, and what they leave in the pot is for the poboys. If they gave out extra cups of the juice, the next person would get a rather dry poboy.

Solution: Order the Poboy Sloppy
So they can't give out extra, but will put extra on a poboy? Makes sense.
Not that it matters, because I'm only in Baton Rouge maybe once a year, and only for a few days at that, but I surely won't be visiting this place in the future.

This thread delivers.
Randy, I visited your restaurant once around 2007-2008 and thought it was hot garbage. Good news, at least you're not loosing an existing customer in me. Keep your shitty pizza and shitty service.
Suck rocks.

Just got a Facebook notification: "Randy Wesley has changed the privacy of Pastime from open to closed"
I was already in the group (no idea why or when I joined), so it doesn't affect me.

Exactly.
And furthermore, there were only a few posters actually participating in this thread before he went on his rant.
You can pick out a lot of posers on various pages who came into this thread after seeing his rant and said he'll never get a dime from them.. People who had no issue with the place now have no desire to visit ever. Even if he came here and "made it right", he showed his true colors IMO.
If he would have let it slide like his friends and "attorney" told him, this thread would be lost in the depths of TD already.

Bump for Sunday discussion and the loss of more Pastime customers.

Looks like Steezy will be getting a lawsuit in the mail shortly.

Pastime: where we may sue you, and you're not getting any free food for complaints about mice, gravy, or any other condiments.

Wesley is big time butthurt. His over the top reaction doesn't surprise me though.

Scott Varnedoe's wife did the same a few years back to respond to someone who came on here with a bad experience. Did a great job with the situation.

If I saw a mouse in pastime, which I won't 'cause I'll never eat there, I'd pretend to take an important personal call and walk out side.
Then I'd jump in my car and floor it for The Chimes, where free gravy comes from a hot little English major with large melons and a smile.

I was an accounting major, thank you very much!
This gem comes from the Pastime website (wonder if I will get sued posting the quote):
quote:
It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, and Pastime is the oldest dog in the restaurant pack.
After 65 plus years in downtown Baton Rouge, with the help of a few friends, family and K-fx2, we have finally allowed ourselves to be dragged into the 21st century.

As we get the hang of this new fangled technology, we will be adding more features, more photos, more history and more events.
This man and the internet do NOT get along!

I don't think Yeezy has to worry much. From Facebook's TOS:
quote:
Sharing Your Content and Information
You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook, and you can control how it is shared through your privacy and application settings. In addition:
For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your privacy and application settings: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook (IP License). This IP License ends when you delete your IP content or your account unless your content has been shared with others, and they have not deleted it.
When you delete IP content, it is deleted in a manner similar to emptying the recycle bin on a computer. However, you understand that removed content may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time (but will not be available to others).
When you use an application, the application may ask for your permission to access your content and information as well as content and information that others have shared with you. We require applications to respect your privacy, and your agreement with that application will control how the application can use, store, and transfer that content and information. (To learn more about Platform, including how you can control what information other people may share with applications, read our Data Use Policy and Platform Page.)
When you publish content or information using the Public setting, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of Facebook, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (i.e., your name and profile picture).
We always appreciate your feedback or other suggestions about Facebook, but you understand that we may use them without any obligation to compensate you for them (just as you have no obligation to offer them).
