I've never eaten there before but heard wonderful glorious things about their food from people in the know, whom I trust dearly.
So me and a colleague were about to walk into Berryhill and I notice lo and behold there is a new 5 Guys right there.
I called an audible and we hit up 5 guys. I felt like hugging the woman when she told me "our standard burgers all come with two patties and you get all the fixins for free." She told me that the fries would feed both of us and she was right.
I literally had to be rolled out of the place and when I hooved it back to the office I headed straight for the private conference room known as the toilet and I had a long meeting with myself.
Has anyone eaten 5 Guys? I"m telling you it was incredible.
So, it was incredible for the portion size?
How about the burger and fries?

Never been to 5 guys. Heard good things and a few mehs, but one thing is for sure the Baton Rouge 5 Guys might break all national sales records with the anticipation.

i gave 5 guys here 5 tries
absolutely tasteless fries and tiny-arse meat patties.
if you're into the 'goop' making your burger..then yeah by the time you get all the fixins, you feel like you're eating something fancy.
but i'm a meat purist and this place has below average meat. fuddruckers had much better hamburger patties.

Smashburger has a better burger than 5 Guys.
5 Guys has better fries than Smashburger.
I have never eaten at In-N-Out Burger. Good Burger is New York was pretty good.

the amount of fries this place gives you is borderline retarded

A little too harsh in your word choices but I'd say this is a fair assessment. It's definitely not the patties that make the burgers at 5 guys, but it is what it is, a high end fast food burger joint. There are many ways to do that, and for people who aren't meat purists, 5 guys seems to be a good option.

Ate there in Wash DC. The "two patties" are really one patty that is cut into two thin burgers with some cheese in between. Burger was meh. Fries were good. A lot of food

I've had 5 guys twice. I think it's a really decent burger, but nothing spectacular. Although, I'd be hard pressed to say I've EVER had a burger I would describe as spectacular.
That being said, it's funny how I see people post the above as a criticism. I've also seen people say how fattening it would be to eat all those fries.
Of course, it would be. Who says you have to eat them all, though? They're really good fries, I thought. Just eat your fill, and stop. That's what I did on my two visits there.

i dont get the love for these guys.
there is a mom & pop story down the street called "bonnie's dairy dip" that has homemade fries that are fan-freaking-tastic.
by comparison, 5guys fries have zero flavor. zero. for all their touting of fresh potatoes they sure don't know how to cook them.
and dont give me that crap that all potatoes doused in peanut oil taste the same. bullshite. if that was the case mcdonalds and BK fries would taste alike.
face it, 5guys is mediocre at best.
