I wouldn't take your child to fish out of water for dinner...I thought you were talking about a couple of drinks and maybe an app (like crab claws). I can't really think of a true kid-friendly restaurant with an unobstructed beach view (other than something like the crab trap or back porch) that isn't upscale. The santa rosa beach club, for whatever reason, doesn't get a lot of traffic, so I proably wouldn't hesitate to take the kid(s) there for dinner directly on the beach. It has recently been remodeled with a new chef coming in, so I can't vouch for the food.

We'll be down next week and I'm trying to place us at dinners mixing Tango, Cafe 30A, and possibly Fire. May be a tight schedule and I'm not sure which to cut.

Not Tango. Also Basmati is really great.

We're doing Tango for sure. Basmati looks good but I'll be feeding 5 to 6 boys between 15 and 21. My 2 alone can run up a $200 tab at Horinoya. our suhi attack will be launced on Osaka....not the quality, but these guys are going for volume.

I have eaten there many times. It isn't Horinoya, but it is pretty damn good.

Otis, also don't forget about a run to HWY 98 BBQ. It is just across from Hidden Dunes and is really great.

I've had it years ago and it's good. But, I don't do BBQ at the beach(I'll post a pick of my grill and you'll see why...I upgraded while in time out). Every meal but breakfast will involve seafood.

With all due respect to glassman (and he certainly has my respect) I agree. The last thing on earth I want while at the beach is BBQ. Maybe it's because I'm from Memphis, but I'm all about seafood when I'm livin' the good life at the beach. I'll continue to pimp Tango and I'm a fan of cafe 30-a, fish out of water and calizza too.

There you go. It is much better than anything I can get locally and is comprable to anything besides the absolute best Memphis has to offer.

It is a great option for a pick-up lunch to go lunch. Sunburned kids and good BBQ is always a good option IMO.

Did you finally get somebody to tack weld the other half of that old barrel back together?

Nope. Just took a sheet of tin, laid her down over the bottom half of the barrel...holdin' it down with a rim off the '79 Trans Am.

bump because it's that time of year..

Question...would you do Fire or Cafe 30-A? I'm thinking 30-A if for no other reason I can hit the early 2 for 1 entree special and save a few bucks while still feeding 5 boys between the age of 16 and 21. Recs appreciated.
