I've heard about that place. I just never get to Slidell. We need more good Italian, not Creole-Italian places in the metro area.

So did I actually. And it's one of my favorite places in the city right now. Morcillas for an apetizer with a pincho sour. Then a hanger steak/skirt steak with a bottle of Malbec = a pretty good Saturday night.

I agree.

I tried Maximos for the first time recently, and was rather impressed, and noted it was one of the few places I've been to around here that didn't try to go that route.

I want to try that place in Kenner. It's just hard to get myself, and the little lady out to Kenner, when we get a night out -- for various reasons.

yeah his Italian was always underrated, i guess because of the steaks. think he wanted to open it up more on the Italian side though, hence the new place. It was obviously his specialty, not steaks

I've got that as my best steak in the city, pretty much hands down.

I no longer see the point in going to a "regular" steakhouse, having been there a few times.

Perfection. I noticed you hadn't posted in a while. Catching up on billing hours?

Good garlic fries too. I love the hangar steak but its hard to compare to a traditional steak house.

Spending a rare night out on Williams Blvd, is quite a hurdle though, brah.

I'm gonna get there, I promise. I just wish they had a less shitty location.

Good...I think hen has the Northshore covered well...Dakota and La Provence are possible top 15 in the state.

I am just wondering is there seriously a restaurant that should be in the Final Four (or even Elite 8) outside of NO metro???

Stella!, August, Commanders should all coast if this thing were actually fair.

Metry/Kenner:

1.) Ristorante da Piero
2.) Le Parvenue
3.) Drago's
4.) Vincent's
5.) Impastato's
6.) Vega Tapas
7.) The Galley

Bozo's, maybe...I am going to have to put some thought in this.

Who is taking Westbank? And who am I paired with...Brock? Solo?

I know...but I assure you it is worth the drive...a nice stroll around Rivertown afterwards is both romantic and not safe in anyway...you will think you are in NOLA.

I would consider Dakota for possible top 8. Havent been to La Provence since the latest change. But those are the closest.

Voleos in Lafitte (I guess it falls under Westbank) & Clementines Belgian, is about all I've got. Unless you want to throw in a Vietnamese joint for good measure (Pho Tau, 9 Roses, Than Dinh???).
