Name a $150 shelf sitter thats worth $150. Not a single one has been mentioned in this thread yet.
Calumet, $120-$150, and it’s horrible juice in a pretty bottle.

Stick to chasing Blanton's, loser.

Aren’t you a butt hurt little fricker. FYI, I buy 4 things, BT, ER, WSR, & EHT. I actually pass on Blantons when offered.

Yea, no wonder you think nothing on the shelf at $150 is worth it. You're a tater chaser.
Imagine bragging about drinking Weller green

None of this is surprising at all. You hit up all the taters

Like I said, aren’t you the little butt hurt fricker.
Who’s bragging about drinking Weller Sr? I said that’s all I buy. You are the dumbass dropping $120 on shitty arse Calumet. There’s a reason you will find Calumet on the shelves of every liquor store, it’s not worth $150.
ER, $30 a bottle, is better than any of the shite you are talking about. I use to buy all that stupid shite years ago.
Last time I paid more than $50 on a bottle was either Michter’s toasted or EHT SiB.
TBO, the best ever $150 bottle of bourbon I ever bought was Cream of Kentucky. I bought it straight off the shelf, back to back to back years. (Batch 1-3). Now it’s only avail in raffles pretty much.

That's you trying to big league me with a brand name because you have no fricking clue about whiskey.

This is something stupid people say. Eagle Rare is great, but no it is not better than everything listed in this thread.

That's a $70 bottle, nice try though.

It was in Martin's case this past week for $70. You don't know shite about shite.

Bardstown Discovery series or one of the collaborations.
Bardstown and Founders KBS stout finished whiskey would be a good one.

Isn’t that the rye? (I’m not sure). I do know I paid $150 a bottle for batches 1-3 a few years back (one batch per year). I bought it at Martins and Calandro’s.

Who’s calling who about not know shite about whiskey?

Ok, you got me on one obscure bottling from 3 years ago. I'll give you that.
You're still sitting here pushing tater juice as better than anything listed in this thread and expecting anyone to take your recommendations seriously. Not to mention that none of the stuff you list is readily available on a shelf anyway, minus the BT.
It's honesty impressive you're pretending to not like Blanton's right now given that you only buy the rest of the tater starter pack.

That’s just it, there’s nothing listed in this thread except Calumet, which is not worth the $150 a bottle.
All I said was anything sitting on shelves right now that’s listed for around $150 (what the OP asked about), is not worth $150. We are probably talking about a 12-18 year old. If it’s good juice and $150, you are not gonna find it on the shelf.
EC18 use to be avail on the shelf, but that’s not $150 (or it wasn’t back when it was on the shelf a few years ago).
Hell, five years ago, I use to buy MWND and Handy off the shelf at Hocus Pokus.

If Blantons was $35 (what it should be), I’d buy it. I’m not paying $60 when I can get ER for $30, and it’s 10x better.

How are you going to call Calumet shite, and then say the best $150 bottle you ever bought was Cream of Kentucky, when it's widely known that they both are sourced from Barton
The new CoK rye is in-house, but those early batches were Barton bourbon, just like Calumet.
Posted on 12/13/22 at 11:46 am to sonoma8
It may run a little more than $150 (~$175 or so), but I believe there is still some Hirsch "The Cask Strength" out and about. It's 7.5 year Willett bourbon (purple top), finished in Cognac casks.

What does that matter? The same company makes Weller Sr, ER, BT and all the antiques/pappys.
Why does the CoK sell out in a week and Calumet stay on the shelf, it’s the same company?
You cannot compare apples to oranges.
Posted on 12/13/22 at 12:12 pm to theantiquetiger
It’s not comparing apples to oranges, it’s the same mashbill from the same distillery, and very similar ages.
One has more premium packaging and Jim Rutledge’s name attached to it.
Why do Willett purple tops sell for 1k+ and Hirsch Single barrels (Willett sourced) sit on shelves for weeks? The fricking taters have no idea it’s the same whiskey.

Real talk though.
Cream of Kentucky over crushed ice with a splash of sprite and just a few drops of lime juice is excellent.

He must've bought it in Harvest parking log

Awwww Tis the bourbon season
And sonoma8 is this a bottle for someone else or yourself?
We’re gonna need some type of bourbon/rye reference that whoever is getting this juice enjoys
Then we can narrow it down my man
