According to the Weather Channel and Accuweather there will be strong thunderstorm activity in the St Louis area around May 11-13. Not good.

I have two relatives that work for the COE in Vicksburg.
I used to sleep with a chick from Yazoo County. Her ol' man was the Deputy Chief for the COE.
Unless you slept with either one of your relatives, you have been "one upped".

Now if you have never felt an earthquake in your life. Be near here when they open these gates.
i think you are overestimating personally
First hand account from relatives who worked there for COE in 1973 when they opened the first gate.
I witnessed it personally days later.

i have a feeling thats why they have begun to open them, its probably going to take a while to open them if they do plan to open 100
I do not think they have opened any now that the forebay is filling. They only opened 20 something in 73.

Too early to tell. More water can't be a good thing.

Son and several of his buddies just got home after spending the evening bow fishing along the Morganza potato levee. They were in boats on the river side of the levee. He said the river side is still ~2 ft higher than the forebay and the current over the levee is strong. He watched one section of the potato levee collapse and wash out while he was there. By tomorrow, the forebay should be level with the river.

glassman, i know you are as gun shy as a Kennedy for good reason. But relax bro, the river is gonna do what it's gonna do.
if any of us hated it or feared it that much, we'd move to Ohio.
