Just got a text saying 4 barges broke loose and 2 may have hit the bridge. It's closed for inspection. Can someone confirm?

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Four barges dislodged in Baton Rouge north of the Huey P. Long Bridge (old bridge) Saturday afternoon.

The Louisiana State Police said two of the barges hit the bridge.

The bridge has been closed in both directions as a precaution.

they should shut down river traffic until the water goes down, the current is obviously to strong to operate safely

an empty bridge still could pose a problem. Thats a lot of weight and the current is ripping.
