I am VERY concerned. Really wanted Kincaid and should have waited a round.

Have Kyler. Wanted the McBride stack.

But Andrews was sitting there in the middle of the fifth. Could be a royal frick up.

After the Waller years. Then Goedert. Now potentially a bust in Andrews.. I’ve never drafted TE well. Time to start punting.

I’m not dropping Andrew’s or anything, but I’m certainly interested in rostering Likely unless he goes for way too much FAB

As Andrews owners, is it smart to throw a huge % of FAAB at Likely in week 1? Not very many good TEs on the waiver, and if Likely supplants Andrews, he could be a top 5 TE ROS. However you lose out on potentially being competitive for other FA RBs in the coming weeks when gems are usually found.

I'm leaning towards not panicking yet... the way they kept pulling Andrews (curious as to his snap percentage last night, can't be more than 50-60%) leads me to believe that his ankle injury is not 100% yet and they are easing him back in. Plus the offensive line did them no favors last night... Lamar basically playing backyard ball.

Likely put up some pretty good #s at the end of last year and he looked really good last night even with Andrews out there. I don’t think it would be shocking to see a passing of the torch as to who is the #1 TE in Baltimore

It looked like how I used to play Madden back in the day with Vick, where the vast majority of my value was just scrambling with the ball on passing plays.

I actually drafted both in anticipation of an injury to Andrews similar to last season. Not in anticipation of a new offensive scheme.

Can’t decide if I should swap them out for week 2 or not.

I wouldn't freak out too much. Steve Spagnola has stated multiple times that his goal when playing the Ravens is to shut down Andrews. Andrews was bracketed much of the game. Combine that with coming back from injury and having to block more than usual, and I am not overly concerned.

I think Lively is a viable option going forward but honestly I think he takes more away from Bateman/Agholor more than Andrews. This is the new Gronk/Hernandez. Let's just hope no one gets murdered.

ETA: Look at Andrews last several games against the Chiefs. This was pretty standard. His best over the last 5 or so games was a 5/50 type game.

I think people are way overreacting to 1 bad game. Andrews missed the last 3 weeks or so because of that car wreck. It looked like the Ravens had a gameplan to get flowers and Likely the ball and stuck with it even when Andrews became available. Likely is going to be involved because he’s really good.

Also, the Chiefs were dialed in on Andrews when he was on the field. Two or 3 more games like this and I’ll say Andrews is done.

I’ll try to get likely everywhere he’s available, but I’m not doing a full FAAB dump on a TE that is probably going to be splitting targets though.

So for those with Andrews..

Planning to try and pick up Likely to roster both?

I don’t know the numbers but it seemed like likely was lined up in the slot a lot? I know they do that with Andrew’s but just don’t remember seeing Andrews in the slot as much as likely was. I may be wrong.

You are right. They couldn’t block and used Andrews more there.

Not a script I think continues to play out.

But debating whether I want to play roulette all year with both on roster.

I think if both are fantasy “relevant” then neither really is. If that makes sense.

Sort of like, if you have two starting QBs then you don’t have one.

Well I had Kincade... So not much better. This seemed to be a rough first week for the position as a whole.

Listening to the footballers podcast and they noted how the last 5 times the Ravens have played the Chiefs they’ve completely neutralized Andrews. It’s basically their entire gameplan defensively.

They said he was bracket covered every time he was on the field and when Likely went off late they triple covered him in the end zone.

I think Andrews will be fine.

Well if all that’s on tape, wtf else is everyone else in league doing. They ain’t got the Jimmy and Joe’s to neutralize/bracket him? Doesn’t compute…just saying if footballers podcast can see it, why are all the othe DC’s in league failing to recognize what it takes to stop him. Obviously there’s a lot of tape.

ETA: or just maybe it’s because they have had no receiving threats outside of Andrews the last 5yrs with exception of Zay last year

The chiefs have put it on tape since 2019 and other teams haven’t figured it out. Its not really that simple.

I get people want to melt because Andrews had a bad game, but here is Andrews career against the chiefs:

2 for 14
2 for 15 (Playoffs)
5 for 57
3 for 22
3 for 15
0 for 0 (Rookie Year)

15 for 123 and 0 TDs over 5 games, and I’m not counting his rookie year.

Looks like they make sure he doesn’t beat them to me.
