Playoff quarterfinals

I have my D (Steelers) and RB Collins left.

Should I just bench them, especially the D?

Doesn’t seem like any good can come from playing them.

Or maybe I’m overthinking.

Maybe that's a strategy, but it seems cowardly to me.

The other guy played all of his players...

Yeah but I don’t have to. I’ve already won. All I can do is get negative points and lose as unlikely as that is.

The odds of both of those combined getting negative is extremely low...any potential stat corrections? It would only take them dropping a point from you and giving him a point and poof...

No, you're up, with 2 players to go.

I mean it's your call, but if your asking, my opinion is what it is.

The probability of 2 players getting negative points is low anyway.

Normally I’d say you’re crazy because total points matter in seeding and shite but in the playoffs only wins matter so sure bench them and move on.

Only if the league is set up that way. I played in one league like that...hated it.

I like it because it accounts for having one bad week in playoffs and having one bad matchup one week, playoffs should be two weeks per team in my opinion

2 players are not getting negative pts. play them, you never know about stat corrections later.. (i lost on a wednesday this yr due to a 2 pt stat correction)

Why have a format that differs from the regular season? You could have one bad matchup that puts you 7th instead of 6th and out of the playoffs.

Hell, just this week, I could clinch a 1 seed with a win, or be completely out of the playoffs with a loss (and other teams winning).

Playoffs often mean a lot (in terms of $) and the teams that have consistently been the best all season shouldn't get screwed if something weird happens one week.

Then why don't more leagues have playoffs like that? I've only played in one like that.

And isn't that kind of how things work? Sometimes shite happens. Why not just do a total points league if you don't like the chance of one bad matchup screwing you?

You have to admit though, even a 2 week matchup does not always protect you from a bad week.

I'm in two leagues, and one has a two week championship and one has both rounds of playoffs as 2 weeks. I like the two week championship, except for that it goes into week 17, but I hate the semifinals being two weeks.

More leagues aren’t like that simply because it’s not the default anywhere. That’s like arguing that standard is better than any kind of PPR because more leagues play it

I like two week matchups. Anything that can be done to reduce luck and reward skill is good in my book.
