<========

My opponent had AB so I picked up Big Ben from waivers and started him, and it worked out

I had Ben and Mariota - Opponent had AB.

I also had Bell and had to start Rishard Matthews due to bye weeks.

Worked out. Winning 56.56 - 32.40

PPR

In week 5 AB84 had 25.7 points, big Ben had 2.6

In week 6 AB84 had 29.5 points, big Ben had 11.9

Sooo yeah.

Who is your other QB?

This makes no sense. Who were the QBs that you could’ve started instead of Big Ben? Because if they score more than Ben then you still made a bad choice...points don’t “cancel”, you just want to get the highest total.

Out of all the reasons to play a QB this logic by the OP(other people have shared it as well) is almost always the worst.

Ben at home, Ben being decent in recent weeks, getting all 3 of his major field stretchers back and healthy, having Bell to dump passes to, Tennessee having a questionable secondary etc

All better reasons and more likely than not the reason this play worked out.

also remember the unknowns...no one could have predicted Mariotta throwing 4 picks.

This logic will blow up in your face if you try to rely on it in the future. Please discard immediately and never attempt again.

Starting Ben is risky. He plays down to the level of bad opponents, isn't very good on the road, leads the second worst red zone offense in the league, and completes only 20% of his passes more than 20 yards downfield.

The first two factors weren't in play last night, but you could have had a Bad Ben sighting like we saw against Chicago and Jacksonville.
