Ok it's set up.

Do we want to do LE's suggestion for guys that were dropped? Set up email boxes for each conference and give 2 people access from the opposite conference? Then you could bid on a player while he is protected? Seems super easy to do.

Do you announce when an email has been received on a player? In an effort to make sure no one adds that guy before the transaction can be executed

What time will these email bids be processed?

Easiest way is to announce and award claims at a set time the day the guy expires.

But, with that process, we are essentially manually running daily waivers.

Has anyone with commish access looked into running multiple waiver periods and allowing a $0 min bid? Seems like we could avoid a manual process here.

ETA- I know ESPN allows $0 bid in FAAB process.

If two guys enter $0 bid, it can do to highest waiver priority, which is more fair then being at computer at the right time.

Yes, I suggested that we do that the night before they become available, like 9:00 PM. Cut the bid time off at 8:30 PM. They won't be added that day, but that way we know not to pick them up the following day when they become available.

I mentioned it a few pages back. Did not pick up steam. You wouldn't be able to add UFAs if you did that, but you could just add someone using a 0.00 claim.

I don't know how the highest waiver priority would work.

That being said, it's not going to be difficult to do this manually...we are talking about 10-12 guys a year, give or take. Players that were dropped to add someone else. Most people aren't going to waste their money on that.

Here's what I say we do, and we can run with this...

Keep waivers as is. Change the day that someone is protected from 2 days to 1 day. Then if you want to bid on someone who was dropped, you email the box before 9:00 PM. Highest claim gets the player. Tie goes to the person who asked first. If no one claims that player, anyone can add him when he's unprotected. Very simple.

no indeed. This has to remain blind.

if someone adds someone, cant we just reverse it?

eta: or do like Toula said. make the deadline an hour before the player is supposed to become a FA. Then announce if anyone has been won. But you cannot announce if people are putting bids on a player.

That's what im saying.

Reversing it will just be a pain.

I say leave it alone this year, and we address it next year.

Just announce it the day before. People don't need to be allotted up to the point the person is available to bid.

If you want someone who is protected, get your bid in before 9:00 PM CST. Box owners announce the highest bid. If no one bids, there is nothing to announce and the player becomes available and anyone can pick him up.

Can we have the new waivers process in our league constitution and sent out in an email?

Yea, I'd put it in the OP, with a day by day, time by time timeline. On the league homepage, in an email, etc. You know someone isnt going to see this and there will be a shite storm.

You are posting right now, you could use this time to send an email on a claim.

I wouldn't just start this without letting everyone know. We are talking through this, but it seems like it will be very easy and again, only effects restricted free agents (after the regular waiver wire).

Toula said he would run the box for droppings. Need someone else from tiger and then 2 from droppings to run the tiger box.
