I ended up scrapping IDP in one of our leagues, the pool was so deep, they were pretty much like kickers. Could go off, but for the most part they were about the same
when JJ Watt started catching TDs he became the ultimate IDP

I wouldn't want every league to be like that, but it would be fun to play with a few smart owners and see who's preseason evals are the strongest
You would hate it if you were in a league like that.

would be nice not having to get up at 6am to beat people to FAs

The no trading would kill you, though..

I don't understand why we just didn't add a 2nd flex spot and keep both D/ST and K.
The lemmings followed because they were salivating to add an extra flex to make it easier to select weekly rosters, but those who wanted it to begin with didn't care in either draft strategy for D/ST and K, or streaming week to week.
So, to kill two positions that they did it by dangling an extra flex carrot in front of everyone else to make it easier for themseves during the draft and waivers for those positions and the league fell for it hook, line and sinker.

That's cool if you feel that way, but I just think kickers and defenses are pointless. Sure there are a few elite defenses and you can play the matchups. Same with kickers, but there's not too much thought going into it. We can all agree to disagree, but this league IMO is made up of some of the best minds on the fantasy board. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them a puppet.

Would you have preferred separate polls on elimating K/Def and adding a flex?
We would have ended up with same result, IMO

Most owners had only 1 D/ST and K on their roster so picking those was easy every week.
The constant tug of war in selecting the one flex was a pain, sure, and those against D/ST and K used that to sway opinion.
Adding an extra flex and keeping D/ST and K would have accomplished the same as removing them as far as roster selection goes, but there are those who didn't want to pick a good D/ST or K in the draft vs grabbing a 4th or 5th RB or WR. That's why it was proposed that way.
I think we should poll playing a 2 QB league while we are at it if we are arbitrarily putting up polls before discussing different approaches in adding a 2nd flex.

Some of these dudes act like they have an inside track on kickers and def
I drafted the Broncos Def and the Jets before that. Both were getting 20 points a game.

Inside track would be nominating one early in the auction at $2/$3.
Most don't want to exceed that in either case.

I thought that's what we did...we discussed it, then added the poll.
The poll to determine if we are using a traditional flex or allowing it to be a qb is dropping today.
You are stuck on this notion that people are trying to sway others one way or another when you were in the low minority that wanted to keep kickers and defenses. I think people that voted considered the options and decided they wanted to try something new but not earth shattering.

It has nothing to do with the extra flex spot for me. I just think that kickers and defenses are pointless and a crapshoot. I've been trying to get rid of them in my IRL league for years
Y'all are ridiculous with this puppet and lemming shite.

Exactly, 90% of owners don't care to pay more than $1 for their kickers or defense. So it was an easy decision for most.

I think Gyno was for having a QB for the flex, let's see us follow him!

i dont think this league is ready for a QB flex, therefore, I will vote NO
Posted on 6/28/16 at 12:55 pm to PortCityTiger24
Of course it won't succeed, no one wants that shite.
..but reducing draft strategy even further vs the lucky guy picking a $1 sleeper or someone having the fastest website click for waivers on a breakout player is rewarded.
