Andrew Luck was the issue. I went against my pre draft strategy and he cost me all season.

An extra $3 would not have mattered.

I think rather than eliminating positions (such as a DEF which is an integral part of the game) it might be more interesting to come up with new ways of scoring performance. Similar to what was done in baseball years ago. Is there a better way to measure/score performance?

I think a better way to have dealt with the DEF would have been to eliminate some of the scoring credits it gets. Remove INT, Sacks and fumble recoveries or a couple and get down to what is the defense's core value - stopping scores and limiting yardage. Anyway, just a thought.

Scoring based on point per possession and yards per play benchmarks?

You'd have to flesh that out some more....but it sounds better than no D or Kicker and possibly putting a 2nd QB in the flex.

I was all for the first change, but this is getting too complicated IMO.

I'd almost say lets just keep the shite as is

This use to be my favorite league, might not like the league at all with all these changes that are being suggested.

I think I won the league one year by paying $3 for Chicago D. (I may be getting confused with the year I was the #1 or #2 seed and lost in the playoffs).

However, I was all in on Chicago D for $3 and Tony Gonzalez for $2 and had a great team.

Only thing to happen was DEF/K slots got replaced by a 2nd Flex RB/WR/TE spot. And then a bit of whining and name calling.

I don't think anyone really cares about K spot, so another option is to vote to re-add DEF (using last years rules) and see what the league says. Then the DEF bidders v. streamers get a re-do on DEFexit.

Don't allow flex for kicker and defense. Flex should be limited to RB WR TE. If I could flex defense, then I would because they tend to wildly out score an RB3 or WR3.

I know, but it was an example of going down the rabbit hole of bad ideas. I think changes to scoring could be interesting. The two proposed so far are not.

The best option would have been just to add a 2nd flex and keep everything else as-is, so those who like to draft a top D/ST and K would have been happy and those who try to find those deep sleepers (or who drafted well and had 2 stud bench players to choose from for the flex positions) would be happy.

Everyone wins.

No , not really. I wouldn't want an extra flex if we kept kickers or defense.

The change passed in a landslide. Time to move on.

In other news, there will be no QBs in the flex.

New poll posted regarding special team touchdown scores being awarded to players. Vote!

We will have a separate poll regarding yardage.

Yeah, you're not supposed to have two paypals so I had to delete that one. Send it to the one I posted in the email, AM24TDFL @ Gmail.
