During Week 2, the Pittsburgh Steelers removed star running back Le’Veon Bell from the team’s depth chart. In Week 3, they are taking things a step further.

With Bell still holding out, the team has removed him from its active roster.

Dumb question and not fantasy related, but what happens to Bell if he tries to come back for Week 10 and the Steelers tell him to kick rocks?

Can you revoke a Franchise Tag Contact once it is offered? If he does try to do that it is in the Steelers favor (I think) to tell him that so he doesn't get credit for the year. Then he doesn't become an unrestricted FA.

Well they don't have to play him if they don't want to. I believe if he "reports' they still have to pay him no matter what.

Bell would love that. He'd still get paid while doing nothing

If they could do that then Bell sitting out until then would be completely pointless.

If I’m Tomlin, when/if he comes back, he’s getting 30 carries, 12 targets, returning punts/kicks, and he’d be the fricking personal protector for the punter every game

frick that guy

I hadn't thought about it before this whole situation but double franchise tag, especially to a rb with the kind of workload Bell gets, is a lot of bullshite.

why? It was collectively bargained. the blame falls 100% on the player's union/players.

This whole thing is another example of how bad unions can be. /thread

Well no shite, that doesn't mean it isn't a bullshite policy.

That or he gives you max effort until he knows he is being over used and he costs you a game.

I find it funny that Bell is catching so much flak. Dude touched the ball 50+ more times than any other back. Oh and he played 15 games. If he gets hurt on this one year deal you could argue he’s missing out on a significant chunk of guaranteed money. frick em like coach O said.

I don't know the rules, but I'm sure that's not an option for him. That would probably be a violation of his contract. But there's definitely some concern about how effective he'll be coming off the street.

He'll probably be making a beeline for that sideline, maybe work a few slides in there
