as a commissioner it is my job to make sure the league is fair.
If 10 other teams get the guy's full roster, but in the 11th week someone doesnt, how is that fair to the other teams?
and as much as people complain about collusion here, it would be much easier to collude with your active roster under the guidelines you are presenting as opposed to just fudging a trade.

What's the difference when you go 3 or 4 days without setting a lineup. It affects the competitive balance.

Have you been in a league on here that someone has gone 3 or 4 days w out setting a lineup? And has the commissioner ever stepped in and altered that lineup? Yes or no to both questions.

i dont follow the other teams in my fantasy baseball league that close so i really dont know. Cwill missing 3 or 4 games out of 162 days isnt the same as someone not setting their lineup when they have a week to do so and only play 12 games total. . Not to mention there are more roster spots in baseball, so missing out on a game or 2 is easy to make up.

As commish I try to stay away from manually editing rosters for the most part...seems like a dangerous precedent to set

Are you also a participant in the league? If so, then bullshite. Why should you have the power to manipulate a lineup of another player when no one else in the league has that power?

Well the obvious question is why the owner wanted this guy to have a better chance to win. im guessing commish was a borderline playoff team and benefited by your team losing?

Missing that many games in a week will cost you a few cats that week, which in turn could affect the playoffs come the end of the yr. My point is no one ever changed any lineups, as they shouldn't.
That owner should be addressed. Big brother shouldn't step in and fix it. Now if it goes on for more than a week, then of course the commissioner steps in. But that's not what happened in the case of the OP.

Exactly, every matchup effects all the other teams' standings. lol at the commish having the power to deciede who starts on the dead-beat teams rosters. That league is getting screwed by the commish.
You'd have to have some sort of rule in place like inserting the highest projected player, but who wants to keep up with all that non-sense?

Yes I'm in the league. It's addressed every year in the preseason. Next highest rated player in that position goes in. If they have no one, the highest rated FA gets picked up and a player they choose is dropped.
No one else needs to have that power. I am the voice for the whole league. Stop playing in shitty leagues where guys want to win at any cost, even if it means not earning it

I have seen this happen several times before and I have been guilty of it. I routinely set my lineups right after waivers are processed. Then I don't look at them again until Sunday morning (unless I have Thursday players). Sometimes, shite happens and you can miss last minute scratches. IMO, the commish should not change the line-up for a 1 time occurrence. The owner should have been notified and if it happened again the commish should take over the team and set the line-up based on projections. This sounds like he changed the player after the result was known and choose Asiata bc he had the better game.

Tell him for compensation (since he's offering he is admitting that he overstepped and screwed you) you want to change your last draft pick for the #1 pick and all of your other draft spots remain the same

Wow, that is going way too far in my opinion. But if it's addressed preseason and everyone agrees to it, than I guess it's fine. I am in the camp that the commissioner should not be editing lineups except in extreme circumstances.
For me, as commissioner, I will try and scan everyone's team Friday or Saturday, and if I notice some people have empty spots or are starting injured players, I'll send a group message to the entire league reminding everyone to set their lineup. If it gets to Sunday morning and there are still issues, I'll send another message to the entire league, but will mention the person by name (i.e. John you need to set your lineup). After that, if the person still leaves in injured players, it's on him and I won't mess with it.
The only time I would start to change it is if a person is leaving injured guys in every week, showing he's obviously given up on the league. At that point, I'd probably discuss with the rest of my league what should be done, and decide based on that discussion. Then I would likely not invite that owner back the next year, unless he had a really good reason for neglecting the team the year before.
Luckily, this has not become an issue in the league I run because it is a competitive league that has been around for a long time.

I tend to agree, but if you have to edit it with someone's season on the line, you have to be consistent and do it in week 3 too.
