re: Fantasy Football Rules you’d tweak...
I like that idea of the hybrid system. In multiple leagues with both systems and those with H2H have a lot more trash talk and the ability to make side bets and are really fun. That said, it is super frustrating when you score a bunch and lose and look over and a bottom feeder won with half as many points. I've found there is a lack of that competitive spirit in the Top/Bottom. SOmething I'll def propose next season.

In the BNTDDynasty league, we got rid of defense and kickers and replaced with 2 flex. Love this.
In another we ditched kickers and replaced with a flex. Its great but still have that crapshoot DEF spot.
In my 2 others they are the traditional setup and there has been a lot of resistance to moving on from kickers and defenses...

Like that some leagues have implemented weekly high scorer payouts. It's sweet.

Trying to get more of my leagues to move to FAAB but some old timers hate change.

That’s a good idea too. But you don’t wanna shorten the reg season too much imo. Need at least 12 reg season weeks.

We just changed to FAAB in my main league this year and I was one of the resisters. After doing it, I love it and wouldn't go back to the rolling waiver system.

you'd still have the same amount of weeks, semifinals would just turn into two weeks of combined scores

Did you guys just do the top 6 scorers in the league won for the points that week?

also don’t buy the narrative drive by the TE backers that you should draft an elite TE early and gain an advantage. In my main league, two teams with the elite TEs didn’t even make the finals.

Right. Kelce and Ertz basically had ADPs of mid WR1 to WR2 and that's what you got, beating your opponent at TE but having a weakened RB2 or WR2 didn't really give you any kind of clear advantage. You paid market rate.

an extra flex requires more thought than trotting a JAG out there to fill a roster requirement.

having that positional advantage doesn't make you elite necessarily. You drafted Kelce as a WR2 and its basically what you got.

Well essentially I drafted a top tier TE and he at the least performed up to his draft value. The key to that making my team elite is hitting on players drafted in the middle rounds that over achieve based on there draft value. When you get a guy like Kupp who you draft in the 7-8 round and he performs like a WR1 or Jones like a RB1, then having a TE1 makes your team elite.

Again though, this was part of the draft strategy I had where I wanted to pay up for a TE because I thought it would be a better chance to hit on a mid round WR or RB than mid round TE.

More home field advantage leagues where the squad with the better reg season record gets some points added in playoff matchups.

that's the case with pretty much any draft.

Yes, pure total points for one game then h2h for the second.

re: Fantasy Football Rules you’d tweak...
Tried presenting that type of system to my league for next year and this was the response. Sighhhhh

Theres a point to the luck, it's part of the head to head nature of the sport of football. If the saints put up 12 pts last night and won, but they got luck because the Panthers played very shitty and only scored 9, are you gonna knock them a spot because there were other teams this weekend that scored more? It's about scoring more than your opponent, not scoring more than every football team in a given weekend

I realize that, but specifically this year TE was a such a disaster that I felt like paying up for TE this year it was justified.

typically always a fail when you try to draw parallels between real and fantasy football

kind of a personal preference, since its such a shite show I usually opt to wait on sleeper type TEs late. If it works out great and if not then I'm essentially streaming like 75% of the league.

Right, and unlike real football, in fantasy you have no control over what your opponent scores that week. The only thing you have any "control" over is trying to field an optimal lineup that scores the most points possible. It's a stupid comparison with fantasy H2H and real NFL outcomes.

re: Fantasy Football Rules you’d tweak...
I argued that we can't control how much the other team scores like a defense in real life can. He then told me being lucky is what fantasy football is all about and H2H is king.

Personally, I don't like relying on luck when I put a large amount of money on the line to play. To each their own I guess.

I somewhat get it as the agony is part of it...but its typically your weaker owners that don't want to take luck out of the equation

re: Fantasy Football Rules you’d tweak...
My team went 5-5 and almost missed the playoffs despite having the highest PF in the league. His team finished 7-3 and got the high seed despite scoring the 6th highest PF in the league. So I think that may have something to do with his thinking.

Get rid of DST and Kickers and add a flex. Did this in TDFL and I like it a lot.

I think we will most likely get rid of K/D next year in my main league. We already have the points setup to where basically a K or D is never scoring more than 10 any given week.

I like the Top 6 Bottom 6 idea but have not been able to convince any of my leagues to do it.

I also like the auction waiver system
