If you have a certain position filled, then throw out a players at that position so others spend their money on players you don't want anyway.
Likewise, throw out stud players that you don't really like. Don't let good players go cheap. Bid players up if you don't really need them if you are sure someone else will keep bidding.

Buy 3 studs. Trade one to CE before week 1 to fill out the rest of my roster.

I don't like putting all my chips in top heavy teams. Injuries are too common these days

I always wait. Let the managers that auto draft run the price up against each other and this will drain their funds. Build depth so you can make a few trades to acquire studs to accompany the studs that you draft.

I prefer to leave 10% of my budget on the table to take a handcuff.

Get 1 stud rb and nab a solid receiving group of 2 or 3 guys from $20-$25 each. You can get a good qb for $20 or less. High RB 2 will probably cost around $30, low one in the $20 range.

I like to start by nominating players I would like as a flex and see if I can either get them at a good price or see if some others overspend on them. I know others will nominate the studs so I just manage my money by getting good value for wr2/wr3 and rb3 types up front rather than having to fill those spots later. Have a plan on what you are willing to spend on RB1 types and WR1 types.

I try to put together a realistic team I would want, then ballpark what those players will go for, then evaluate who is the most important out of those players and determine who I will likely have to do without.

Remember, the beauty of the auction draft is you can get any player you want. Make sure you get one of the best at the skill positions including TE. There aren't many QBs that should go for big money. So don't overpay for Tannehill.
