Since this is a fantasy discussion board, how do we thing this impacts Gibson and the Washington backfield in general?

This is terrible. Poor guy. Guess Gibson is off the punt return team for now. I see a repeat of last year Gibson/McKissic mix. Commanders have no other options.

It's ridiculous. Guy puts in his time in college and by all accounts is about to start his career out on a great note. Then some a-hole comes along and derails it over some bullshite.

I tend to agree with you on the Washington backfield. I guess they could try to sign someone off a practice squad or something like that. But, looks like Gibson's stock is on the rise for the short term at least.

If Robinson has to go on IR, Ronald Jones may be available tomorrow. Not an upgrade over Gibson, but maybe better than what they have on the current depth chart.

Seeing a report of multiple gunshot wounds to lower body. Not good but non life threatening which is great. I assume we’ll learn more tomorrow.

Playing this year would be a shock (at least from the initial reports). He may need some rehab to get back to playing shape.

Satire or not, this isn’t a “get well” thread. We are taking FF impact.

I don't see that as a possibility. First, WAS initially planned on Gibson starting anyway. Second, they still have Gibson and McKissic. Third, looks like Robsinson is being discharged today and they think he'll be back before the season is over.

ESPN:
quote:

ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Commanders haven't ruled out running back Brian Robinson's return this season after the rookie was shot twice in his lower body Sunday.

Robinson remained hospitalized Monday, but there's a chance he'll be discharged in the afternoon. Robinson posted a story on his Instagram page saying the surgery went well.

Defensive tackle Jonathan Allen said he has heard Robinson might be discharged Monday. A team official told ESPN that a Monday discharge is possible.

Washington coach Ron Rivera said the team will determine whether to place Robinson on the non-football injury list after talking to doctors later Monday. Robinson would miss at least four games if the team makes that move.

Hunt isn't looking for a gap-filler situation; he wants to be the main man.

“ vikes have been getting calls”

I can confirm the report the #Vikings are open to trading backup RB Alexander Mattison. As I wrote earlier this month, there's been no traction for an extension. There is interest from Mattison in being a starting RB so if not traded he might leave after season as a free agent.

Mattison could likely start on a lot of rosters.

Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson were full participants today, per McVay. No surprise there.

Also SF signing Jimmy G to an extension making him the highest paid backup in the league.

A Mattison trade to a more prominent opportunity would be awesome.

Late Mattison trade would wreck the fantasy landscape. He’s good enough to take over a backfield immediately on 1/2nd downs and take all 3 downs in a 70/30 timeshare after a few games or so. Would stay outside top 10 but would be a solid RB2
