Genuinely curious how it’s now a ~5 point state after almost being a 20 point state to the Dems previously. Did a bunch of people leave Chicago? Or is this a likely 1-time thing with Kamala not winning over urbans and minorities.

Trump dominated black men and more importantly, Latinos in the rust belt states. Also, his push for early voting this go around, really helped get so many more Republicans to vote than usually do, especially in non swing states

Some people are coming to their senses, not enough though.

Immigration was a huge issue.

The same reason why Kamala got so many fewer votes across the board; DEM voters were not enthusiastic and independents went heavy GOP.

This! Trump at 71 million right now just like he got in 2020 but somehow Biden got 81 million? Kamala is at 65 mil. There is no way it wasn't stolen

I'd say it's a 1 time thing because KH is so bad. But I do think a lot of blacks have moved to GOP because of the economy and illegal immigration changing their cities and taking jobs.

19% in California and 11% in New York is also pretty unimpressive. Trump won Texas by more than she did NY.

Hard to believe how historically critical Florida was, but yesterday it got called like it was Alabama or South Dakota.

1) When the economy is struggling this badly, independents flock to the polls to vote against the incumbent.

2) Harris completely sucks.

3) Since 2020, some people realized Trump was actually a damn good president.

4) Like others mentioned, they didn't get away with the same cheating this time.

they stayed home in 2020, but it didn't keep the dnc/afl-cio/uaw/ibew from filling out ballots for them. props to the poll watchers and lara trump.

I wonder if this will have a long term effect where more republicans will early vote. I voted on Halloween and it felt good knowing my vote was done and when I saw the early numbers with the republican turnout I felt great knowing I was a part of that. And I know it had to be a morale blow to dems to see those numbers.

Hopefully the GOP embraces early voting even more. It’s way better to have this offensive strategy than to always be on defense.

Looking forward to just where the votes “went missing” for Kamala coming in 15m went short.

Georgia looks about the same in terms of vote totals with a quick check this morning.

Harris was an awful candidate. Minorities sniffed it out. Trump ran a great campaign. He worked hard to bring in the independents.

But in IL’s case it’s been deep blue for years. Maybe it’s the Obama effect of the urban black vote there. Which doesn’t care for Harris.
