Erickson goes scorched earth on Dems

From his newsletter today. These are not typos.
quote:
Now, I’m going to make some very controversial points that are all true, but some people are really going be furious with me for saying the truth out loud.
First, the Democratic Party and newsrooms across America are governed by the neuroses of unstable progressive white women and gay men. Put a bunch of neurotic white women and gay men in a room together, and you get the Kamala Harris campaign — a campaign focused on giving white progressives priapism. The only thing missing was Pete Buttigieg, but the Harris campaign gave progressives the closest equivalent in Tim Walz. These are the sorts of people who think the Al Smith dinner isn’t worth it but the podcast that did an episode on being a slut is worth it.
Neurotic white progressive women and gay men lack the capacity to relate to the Middle Class, families, and the working class. The result is Donald Trump has just forged the most racially and ethnically diverse coalition ever to put a Republican in the White House.
The story is not about the female vote but about an interracial coalition of men and married women who sent Donald Trump back to the White House.
Neurotic white progressive women and gay men may really feel like Trump is a threat to Democracy, but Trump won a plurality of voters in Pennsylvania who were concerned about threats to democracy. When you have the neurotic white progressive women and gay men on MSNBC talking about punishing Elon Musk and bashing men for supporting Trump, that’s what you get. Those same people cannot fathom what Democratic Consultants all agree was the ad that turned the tide for Donald Trump. This one:
(Transgender ad)
The very same Democratic consultants who told me Harris’s campaign had no path to victory are the ones who told me that this ad stopped Harris’s momentum and shifted the race towards Donald Trump. But the elite of the Democrats have fully invested in transgenderism and it has alienated them from a massive segment of the public.
Add to that the Democratic sympathies for illegal aliens, a phrase they cannot even bring themselves to say, and of course, they showed themselves completely out of touch.
Second, I have been decried as a racist for saying something true. Black voters in America did not think Kamala Harris had the lived experience of a black American. She was the daughter of immigrants whose father descended from a family of slave owners. She grew up in Canada and progressive Berkeley. She did not have the struggles of a black woman in Detroit or Raleigh. Before she ran for President, Harris called her upbringing “privileged.” On the trail, it became Middle Class. What it never became was the lived experience of a black American woman.
To her credit, she never ran on being a woman. But she never became relatable.
Third, gay men and white progressive women are two demographics least likely to feel the burdens of the economy over the past four years. Add in the media elite who get big contracts to go on MSNBC and wish for Trump’s assassination and you have people who did not feel the sting of the economy lecturing those who did that it was all in their head.
Fourth, white people may not understand it, but the racism between the black and Latino communities of America are real. When you spend your life embracing intersectional identity politics, you miss that there is distinct racism between non-white races and Kamala Harris not only alienated a large number of black people for not sharing their lived experience, but also alienated Latino Americans.
Fifth, it was always the economy, stupid. Democrats failed to deliver. They tried to say inflation was transitory. Then they tried to blame Trump and treated people as fools for remembering there was no inflation when Trump was President. Democrats disrespected the voters, lectured them, tried to shame them, and bullied them. Maybe empathizing with voters instead of scaring them about Project 2025 would have been a better strategy.
Sixth, Republicans, these voters who voted last night for Trump and Republicans still do not really care for us. But they think we can benefit their lives more than the woke progressive Democrats. We need to deliver. I pray Trump abandons tariffs, which would hurt the economy.
Seventh, Democrats, Donald J. Trump is not a threat to democracy. Running a campaign on Trump as the second coming of Hitler just signaled you hate a lot of Americans. You cannot fathom that people disagree with you. You insisted January 6th was an insurrection and not just a riot. So you are caught off guard that people would vote for Trump.
Get out of your bubble.
Eighth, the progressive left has embraced intersectional politics and it is killing them. They cannot align with most voters on transgenderism. They have divided themselves over Israel and antisemitism due to their “colonizer” talking points. Harris could not pick Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania because of the anti-semitism in her party. He might have saved her. These intersectionally woke white Democrats cannot fathom that black voters might not relate to Kamala Harris because, to these white progressives, they share a skin color. Identity politics and intersectionalism will keep tripping up the Democrats. White Progressive Democrats openly fantasized about a Kamala Harris - Pete Buttigieg ticket. If Democrats conclude America isn’t ready for a black female president, good luck with your first gay presidential nominee.
Finally, if you lose the presidency to a multiply indicted and once convicted felon as well as losing the popular vote, the Senate, and the House of Representatives, maybe stop accusing everyone else of being bigotted, racist, transphobic, homophobic, misogynistic, or whatever else and accept that you are out of touch, unable to relate, and lost to Donald Trump.

The party definitely needs to take a long look in the mirror.
It wasn't that long ago that the Dems were the party of the working man and the Union vote was theirs for the taking.
Now they are the party of liberal white women and their effeminate partners. Bubba the machinist just doesn't have much in common with latte-sipping soy boys and Karens.

My only nit pick
quote:
I pray Trump abandons tariffs, which would hurt the economy.
I am no economics expert, but I think you may be falling for the DEMOCRAt lie that Trump wants to put a tariff on all imports.
What he has tried to explain (at least as I understand it) is that he will use the threat of high tariffs on any imported goods that are able to underprice their product in the USA because they make use of 'cheap labor' (or slave/child labor) to produce their goods so cheaply, or that are based in countries who do not have all the environmental protective restrictions that industries here in America have to adhere to.
He is NOT going to impose tariffs on goods that are produce on an equal basis in the two countries. He tries to make that clear by imploring them to 'come here and produce your product adhering to the same restrictions and wage constraints that our manufacturers have to abide by and there will be no tarriffs.
Long winded but I am no economist so I don't know how to use the more efficient buzz words.

He is not a never Trumper. He voted for Trump this time and last time. I'm assuming he did in 2016. he founded Redstate. He calls balls and strikes. he has criticized him pretty harshly but then has given him credit when he thinks he does something right such as tax policy or taking out Sulemain.

That is figuratively speaking the equivalent of a baseball-bat-beatdown.

I listened to these clowns for 2 hours this morning. There is no coexistence with minds like this. They need to be relegated to the dustbin of history...or camps.
