If democracy was the number 1 issues and the voters actually knew what it meant then Harris wouldn’t get very many votes. She is not the peoples choice .

Yea, but that's top general for Republicans. I've got a list of about 15 issues, and I could say they are all lumped in under "democracy"

I don't buy it but it is possible.
You have to consider the past 4 years Republicans have watched the devastating effects of a stolen election, the DOJ weaponized against political opponents, a border left wide open to rig elections, Democrats constantly talking of packing the USSC and removing the filibuster, a president that called millions garbage, and a VP that called them Nazis. So that democracy concern likely isn't a one sided issue.
The biggest difference is Democrats needed it for a campaign slogan because they could not run on anything else except abortion.
