I’ve read all of James Wesley Rawles novels and William Forstchen’s One Second After series. Any recommendations for authors along those lines?

I'm not familiar with those books, so I'm not sure if this is similar, but Swan Song by Robert McCammon is one of my favorites.

One of my favorite books of all time but it's scifi/fantasy
Dies the fire
God or something gets mad at the world and changes the periodic table and gun powder doesn't bang, battiest and electricity doesn't work, nothing works as it should so the whole world goes black in one flash. So people who do well or historians and people who practiced old arts like renaissance festival attendies and people who studies and needed out in specific periods of midevil times and university agg departments /farmers did the beat. Pretty incredible book I loved it. If you can get through the weird tendency of the author to make up or type up some weird song from Wickans and reading a song in your head every few chapters it's great

Swan Song
I just reread Swan Song last month after reading it 25 years ago. It’s epic. I thought it was light years better than The Stand.

Been a really long time since I read it and I don't remember a thing about it except it was nothing like the movie. But I remember really enjoying The Postman

I just read The Dog Stars due to recommendations from this thread. I had it saved and tried the sample. Didn’t really care for it. I have been working nights and started it again. Read it all the way through. Excellent book.

I read Swan Song last year for the first time in years as well. And I agree. The Stand is a massive turd and shouldn't even be in the same conversation.

Authors name eludes me at the moment. But “flood” and the follow up “ark” were apocalyptic- about humans having to bail planet earth while others adapt
Even better apocalyptic sci-fi book is “seveneves” by neil stevenson. Currently being made into a movie, which seems very hard to do in 1 movie
