I like Elder, but that was a DA GOP plan ... well, there was no plan. GOP should have found someone who had a chance to win. I don't know state politics, but the type of person I am talking about is the DEM who headed the state Senate who wanted the Gov Con Man out.

This was a waste of time. Newsom actually came out looking better than when this started.

Well where was all these parents that was supposed to be pissed that California might shut down the schools again and do virtual learning only. Where was all these people that was supposed to be pissed about these lockdowns California has. All you seen was people from California mad about this or that on the news.

Not enough of them exist. For every mad parent you have 2 parents who are liberal leftists who shriek in terror over the word COVID.

I think a lot of these Democrats that was mad about schools or lockdowns and other Covid restrictions probably chickened out at the moment of truth and voted to keep Newsom in office.

This is what happened. Newsome is unpopular but Republicans are even more unpopular. It's easy to say you want to dump Newsome in a vacuum, but when given the choice between keeping Newsome or replacing him with a Republican, these CA leftists dont want anything to do with a Republican

The Republican brand is so toxic in California that for a Republican to ever win a statewide office again its going to have to be someone that has such a personality that they transcend their Republican label. Larry Elder was not that guy.

Arnold Schwarznegger, even though he is a leftist now, is the type of person I am talking about. Its going to have to be someone that is larger than life and allows voters to look past the R next to their name.

It's single party democrat rule. Same as here in New Orleans. No matter how bad things get, there is no opposition party to throw out a lousy leader. You have ironclad job security and two terms are guaranteed.

Like you say it's the white liberal professional class that makes this happen. They ignore the crime and homelessness and other major problems because electing a democrat is more important to them than the impoverished inner city people who actually suffer the results of the failed liberal policies of the people these white liberals elect. They want to be woke but they are wrecking the communities of the minorities they pretend to care about by electing the likes of Gavin newsome.

Quality of Life?

I make $15k per year less than what I made in California, but moving to Texas I actually make more money once taxes and cost of living are factored in.

I was paying over $1,000 a month in income taxes alone in California. I pay $1,000 less per month for a 2 bedroom 1300 square foot apartment than I did for a 1 bedroom 850 square foot apartment in California.

I don't have to step over human feces, homeless people strung out on drugs on the sidewalk, or an endless line of tents on the sidewalk outside my front door.

I don't have to deal with any mask mandates or COVID restrictions.

Quality of life my arse.

YEP ... the DEM plan was so easy ... simply call Elder a "Trumpism" guy. Not rocket science, easy election victory.

Well as I said earlier California is lost. I knew when Larry Elder was announced as the Republican front runner that this recall was doomed. If the people of California is going to seriously elect a Republican as Governor then it will be a Republican like Arnold was or some kind of never Trump type Republican. The days of California putting a Republican like Reagan in office is long gone. Ronald Reagan could not win an election for dog catcher in California these days. Sad but true. California might slip a few conservative or moderate Congressman or Senator but thats because they run for office in one of just a handful of conservative or moderate districts. If these people had to win the whole state instead of a few districts then California would never send a Republican to DC. There is just a few districts left in California that the Dems has not flipped yet. But the more people flee the state it’s just a matter of time before these districts turn blue also. Like I said California is totally lost now.

Agree with you for the most part, but I do not believe it has to be someone larger than life ... but definitely not someone who has said a lot of positive things about Trump. The last I looked it was about 35% against Newsome. So, that 35% is low hanging fruit. You need someone who can get another 16% that appeals to Christian Hispanics and Blacks for example. Take the former Governor of Nevada - Brian Sandovol. Someone like that could have won this election.

The spin our propaganda outlets showed on this makes me question if Elvis is still alive.

This POS can warn the enemy?

I've had three leftist cousins move from CA to AZ due to cost of living. CA is exactly what the DEMs say they are against ... it is a place for the Super wealthy and the very poor.

I mean you can hardly be surprised.

Ethnic minority voters aren't going to vote for Republicans + white voters in California are much less Republican than most white voters.
