Anyone have any crabbing reports for the island? Normally about this time of year the crabs start running the beach and I don't want to miss it!

We caught 82 2 Saturdays ago on lines on turkey necks. Mainly females. Good size and full.

Right when Aug hits its usual time. So its gonna be close. We haven't been doing good the last few weeks. Neither has anyone around us. But it changes quick.

No clue why people even try anyway. The crabbing along the beach is average at best even when good. Went to St Bernard last weekend. We struggled with nets and still got 6 dozen in 4 hours. Mostly mediums but most were full.

Was looking to go crabbing with some buddies this weekend. They were suggesting Lacombe Bayou, but where in St. Bernard is good for this?

Totally disagree. When they are running its nothing to catch a limit daily with minimal effort. They so thick you step on them getting to your lines or traps.

I'm with you on that. When it gets right, and it's usually right after Tarpon, you can easily catch more than you want to deal with.

not sure but be cautious, the bat flu is there

a friend went last week (before the rodeo) with a group of nearly 20 people and every one now has the bat flu and must quarantine for 2 weeks
