With all these positive replies to Oak Grove, we need an Oak Grove jambalaya cook off here.
Something like let’s see who can make the most creative dish using OG jambalaya mix.

Examples:
Oak Grove arancini
Oak Grove boudin (or boudin balls)

Maybe you could use it in the popular cooking challenge threads that happen on this board.

Bump.

Has anyone else cooked down some bellpepper and onion for their oak grove jambalaya?
Im making some tonight and never have done this as the instructions dont ask for it, but know it will be good. Thoughts?

im sure people do but thats the thing about oak grove and zatarains is that all you need is protein and that package of rice.

With that said, im just wondering why i personally havent done that yet.

These two don't even belong in the same discussions as far as I'm concerned.

I'll have to try some Oak Grove. We always use Cajun Spicy at home and it's pretty good.

Jambalaya Girl is my go to. Quick and easy and has good flavor. Only tried Oak Grove gumbo mix and it was really good, but that was during my college days. I prefer my own gumbo and jambalaya, but in a pinch I grab hers

Yeah I couldn't make it a full minute in... that being said I've doctored it up simply by chopping up some fresh aromatics with some oil or butter and adding to the pot
