How do you know if you've been banned?

Do you get a message from an admin telling you what rule was broken? Awhile back I would get a message saying "your posting privledges have been suspended click here for reinstatement" it lasted like 2 days and then bam I could post again. Never got any other form of communication. I've always wondered what I did. 
Was I banned? Or was it some sort of forced hiatus? Seems like you should at least get a message as to why you were suspended???

So, if you get put in timeout, how do you get out? Does the timeout expire? I didn’t do anything and I could suddenly post again.

I'm guessing, but I could see there being code written into the site where the suspension could be a predetermined amount of time. Maybe it was a minor offense and was a simple few day ban.
Doesn't seem like any of the admins care too much since you haven't gotten an answer.

Yeah I never got a Private Message, just the part saying posting privileges were suspended. I would like to know why since I always follow the rules to a T

The pm is like a timeout but its still a ban. My last one lasted like 3 days

Happens to me once every six months. You were talking mad shite or you were drunk, the admins just want you to go in time out for a couple of days to calm down but not anything severe enough for a true ban.

There must be a point system, because when I get the Take A Break PM, I don't think I've done anything recently to deserve it. So they must add up all the stupid stuff that is said and then pop you when you hit the limit?
