Of course they do but Android itself is open source. You can remove the OS off android phones and install custom android roms with all the google stuff removed.

It's obvious at this point people will have to pick the lesser of two evil phone platforms each with its pros and cons unless they want to put a bunch of time into getting a half-finished unpolished open source experience to work

That still doesn't help the Chinese people. Pretty much any legit service they use will go back to the CCP. It's the price of doing business in China.
If any of these companies had balls, they would just dump the Chinese market, but money trumps all especially when they build everything in China.
If you want to talk non legit, you can vpn yourself somewhere else on both these platforms and even dev account on apple and install all sorts of shite.

Apple likes to act high & mighty and power play smaller tech and states in US over politics and freedom of religion bills while looking the other way on China & other middle eastern countries committing true atrocities to its people including China’s treatment of certain Muslims and ME countries treatment of homosexuals and women due to state sponsored religion.
They also finally let Parler back on App Store after forcing them to make app auto censor certain posts instead of just improving content moderation. Even Google didn’t require that to get back on their App Store, and don’t think Apple requires that of Twitter or Facebook.

There is not a company that exists that wants to do business in China that doesn't bend the knee to CCP. Google SJWs the shite out of stuff in the USA and does the same bending of the knee in China. Have you seen their whole new thing about recommending chairperson or mailperson instead of chairman and mailman in the Google Docs? All these tech companies are hyper liberal. There is still a Google China division and they have tried to re enter the market in China a few times with search and other services outside their hardware. Here's the most recent incarnation that had some crazy shite in it.

Don't remember that one, one I remember was they removed an app that the HK protestors were using to track police.
