2010 F-150 5.4L V8 - Is this a good truck, year and engine?

I have one bought in feb of 2011 with 210,000 #2 son drives now.
Head gasket/plugs/ac/radiator in 2020: $2,000.00.
It has been a solid truck and gets driven hard by him.

I know of one that had 325k-ish miles on it when a buddy sold it.

I have that in the SVT Raptor with 240,000 miles on it. No issues so far except brakes, rotors and tires. I use it for a farm truck, hauling trailers and firewood so it stays dirty most of the time.

The a/c doesn't work on the passenger side but that is not a big deal. For my use, fixing the a/c doesn't really matter. Has been a solid truck for me and I hope to get many more miles out of it.

206k and only changed an O2 sensor and 1 coil. Great truck. Still rode and drove like new. Never even had a front end alignment. Only got rid of it to buy f250

I put 295,000 on that engine in a 2009. Never cracked open the engine for a repair. Transmission went out at 120,000. Only major repair done.

If using 5W20 oil and not changing it enough. The 3V Triton's use the same oil pump from the 2V engines, once clearances start to open up from wear combined with the extra oil volume needed by the cam phasers then the factory pump cannot keep up. Also, only Ford OEM cam phasers are the replacement option, aftermarket replacements are junk no matter who makes them. 5W-30 oil is also the minimum for all Triton engines, synthetic 10W-30 being the optimal. Melling now makes a high-pressure/high-volume oil pump that solves the cam phaser issues, M360HV is the part and about $150. It's a DIY project if you are decently mechanically inclined, FordTechMakuLoco on Youtube has several videos and is the best source of information on these engines overall.

I have this truck with 4x4. I have 260,000 on it and it’s still going strong. I can’t justify getting a new one despite the little bit of maintenance that I’ve had to do along the way.

I’ve replaced the AC @ ~120k, spark plugs at ~100k which is a well known issue on this model, and my suspension/joints are starting to wear. My passenger door handle just broke. I recently found that the tranny was a few quarts low on fluid, but it doesn’t seem to have caused any damage. It ain’t the prettiest thing these days, but I’d bet it’ll last well over 300k. Ive probably spent less than $7,000 in maintenance over the 9 years that I’ve owned it.

How much is it listed for?

I had a 99 with the 5.4. I was 16 at the time and beat the ever living shite out of that truck. Only major repair was transmission at 140k. Sold it at 160k and still see it driving
