Best Buy is offering a $200 gift card with the purchase of a Samsung Q90T (75") currently. Not sure if it is offered with all sizes or other models. Not sure if you are strictly looking for a TCL or cheaper model

The A90J is dimmer than the 2019 C9 overall...scores worse in SDR and the same in HDR but C9 wins at HDR overall too with better 2% and 10% scores. The 65" A90J also costs almost $4,000, double what a CX or C9 cost while having the same rtings score of 8.8. OLED is a crapshoot, it's already maxed and boring, all we get now is the same regurgitated panels that are mostly worse than even the 2019 OLED's.

Can't wait for the new tech to mature and get to consumer prices.

You must be pulling your numbers from RTings. Whether it matters in the case where RTings calibrates for their test is the question.

The LG Evo panel is the brightest OLED panel made at this point, that is not really debatable.

Another Video of A90J Peak Brightness testing

However, just probably what will be the case when microLED eventually overtakes the market. We might be at the point where we are now with OLED. Only one manufacturer of these panels.

Yeah, Rtings has the hard numbers and easy to compare. C9 is brighter than A90J by a decent bit in SDR and marginally in HDR.

I don't think you're going to see any real improvements to OLED as it's just not possible regardless of what the companies claim beforehand to sell units. I would have maybe believed them if they said 5% improvement.

She's doing very well! She is recovering from a UTI (about her 4th or 5th one in her lifetime) but overall, very healthy.

Mine is 6 years old as well and can be just as active and playful as she was when she was a puppy. What are you noticing with your boy?

Don't believe anything on my profile information.

Just want to say thank you for replying to my post about the issues with HDMI 2.1, because I had no idea. I used to be a regular on audioholics.com but haven't been on there in 3-4 years.

I remember being ready to buy the highly-acclaimed Panasonic Vierra top-of-the-line plasma TV many years ago, but everyone was announcing the death of plasma, so settled for something cheaper. Sure enough, plasma was gone within a year.....but that still was a very nice TV.

Now here I am again, ready to pull the trigger on the best TV of the last 2 years, the LG OLED 65inch, and you say OLED is soon to be dead. Don't know how long I'll be willing to wait for microLED to evolve and become reasonably affordable in the higher priced segment of TVs that aren't in the stratosphere of pricing.

Might still go for it, but waiting a little while longer.

I appreciate your insights in this thread, as I have 2 TCL TVs elsewhere in my house.

These are basically the same TVs, just different name and look but intervals all same I believe.

I dont think he said OLED will soon be dead, he just does not care for it and knows that microLED is superior.

5+ years minimum until microLED is available in cost points like OLED today, IMO. Nobody is close. Samsung is buying OLED panels from LG at this point to supplement their high end line if that gives you any idea.

3-5 years probably yeah. I wouldn't wait, just wouldn't drop a ton and get something for short term. Just avoid the garbage Vizio OLED.

Samsung has their new MiniLED line too, very good reviews thus far for the 85A and 90A.

oh nothing to be worried about, He is just grown up. Still very active, and since we moved to a larger yard, he loves being outside chasing squirrels up trees.

It is. But while I'm here I'll report that I bought a Hisense TV from Costco back in Sept. for an outdoor TV and it's been great for the price.

Which Hisense? I just returned a TCL series 4 for being too dim in a room with lots of windows.

Why not just buy the TCL from another store? Why must it be from Costco?

If he has a Costco credit card you get extended warranty and cash back.

I looked up their Extended warranty info and it reads like you can use any CC and get the warranty, so long as purchase was made online, here's the Text:

quote:

Costco extends the manufacturer’s warranty on the following items for up to 2 years from the date of warehouse purchase or date of delivery if the item was purchased online: Televisions Projectors Computers* Major Appliances†

That’s good to hear. I also bought a 65” Hisense from Costco to use for an outdoor tv around September but it’s still in the box unfortunately

I moved into a new house in September and still don’t have my wood mantle installed quite yet on my brick fire place.

Hopefully that is soon
