Who could have possibly seen this coming!

quote:

A group of women who have come forward in recent months with stories about being sexually assaulted or beaten on LSU’s campus and then failed by administrators after reporting the allegations have filed a federal lawsuit against the university.

quote:

The lawsuit alleges that despite the federal government’s Title IX mandates and LSU’s own policies, LSU “repeatedly engaged in discriminatory, retaliatory, and other unlawful actions”

quote:

The women are asking for statutory and punitive damages expected to exceed $5 million, attorney's fees and court costs and a permanent injunction "requiring compliance with Title IX and recurring external audits of LSU’s Title IX compliance."

honest question, did any of these go to court for criminal charges and were there any convictions? If not why not, I am 100% curious

LSU is culpable. Covered up serious allegations.

The part I don't fully understand is naming TAF as a defendant.

From the article:

quote:

The lawsuit says that the Tiger Athletic Foundation solicited donations to "implement a deficient sexual misconduct education program and reporting scheme within the Athletics Department that was knowingly not able to meet the standards mandated by the NCAA or Title IX."

If TAF was used to fundraise for a program, can they really be held liable if LSU didn't effectively run that program?

They’re the fundraising arm for the football program. They want that money, not just the university’s money.

Good for them. Worth every penny of it if this was proven to be the case. Verge and the Witch should be sued for personal damages and never set foot on the campus again.

Looks like an unlikely case for a class action.

Typical news release drop to overshadow Mulkey
LSU in the news, good time to drop an article that basically adds nothing
Everyone knew they were likely to sue LSU and my guess is money is what they wanted from day 1

TAF can't claim immunity. TAF also has assets subject to seizure. And it could led to some very uncomfortable discovery requests and deposition questions that LSU, TAF, and some high placed Louisiana politicians and high dollar TAF boosters would prefer go unanswered.
