Let’s all remember, a passing game coordinator isn’t a necessity

We’re all caught up in PGC but in reality, it’s not something every school uses. Hell, before Joe Brady I only remember Billy Gonzalez for a year or 2 under Les at LSU.

I don’t think people should freak out if we don’t hire someone with the official PGC title. A good OC is more important.

We might need a LB coach as the 10th on field coach, depending on who the new DC is.

It is if you have a WR Coach who is a recruiter and a good one. But not good WR coach.

It’s fairly common, but often just a title to pay someone more.

Some schools have a run game coordinator.

Sometimes it’s an “OC in waiting” situation.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with it. The people in the position is what’s important.

I mean it is necessary if you’re OC is 62 years old and hadn’t been a full time Oc since 1998.

Necessary if 4 and 5 receivers are live targets on almost every pass play. Critical coach position in the current up-tempo Spread/RPO type system.

And you need one who knows the system inside and out - not just a recycled old-school WR coach

Think Todd Monken was the PGC under Les too

It’s pretty common, just not as your de facto OC

We have a QB coach. You can argue that he’s not good, but it wouldn’t be an addition to the staff.

I think Ensminger has done a pretty damn good job with our QBs tbh. Brennan was playing well, outside of his first half of the season, and both of the Freshman also look talented.

E seems to be a pretty damn good Qb coach he just isn’t a true OC. Why Miles had a solid qb coach on staff and relegated him to coach an offensive unit that didn’t do anything but block I will never understand.

Only necessary when your old, inept OC needs a spotter
