This article suggests that a combine might have done that. A corn head would not create a cut like that but the cutter bar on a soybean head would. But when you are cutting soybeans the head is on the ground. Don’t really see how it would get on top of him like that.

Got shot with a .243, then the no-gut method was started, then the deer woke up.

Look up No-Gut method on youtube, that's exactly what that wound looks like after step 1.

What the freak! That video is unbelievable and pretty gross at the same time. Can a deer live that long with a wound like that? Could you eat a deer in that condition considering it's an open wound?
