Great photos. Looks like a blast.

We’re flying into Vegas in 2 weeks. Spending 4 days in Zion and 1 in Bryce Canyon. If the weather cooperates we may drive down to the North Rim one day. I hope they don’t shut everything back down before then.

We've been looking at that. Where are some place you'd recommend staying? No clue in that area.

Here now. We did VRBO the whole way. Fairly cheap and gives you a dedicated base away from the masses of a hotel or cabins, etc. We are staying in Hurricane. About 2 hours from Bryce and 45 mins from Zion. We drove (it’s a 18 day trip for us). Did VRBO in Santa Fe, hotel one night in Page, Az (great little town on Lake Powell), VRBO rest of the way in Hurricane. Sedona, Durango, Telluride and OKC.

Us, too. These pics are really whetting my appetite.

Us three. We'll be wearing our LSU gear, so I'm sure we'll hear a Geaux Tigers at some point.

This strategy worked perfectly for our visit today. Got in the park at 8am with 9 am shuttle tix. Had a great hike with the nephew to Upper Emerald Pools.

Thanks for the tip!

Even met some fellow Tigers on the way.

Awesome! It's only been a week now since we got back and I'm wishing I was there again already!

I got a “Geaux Tigers” while in Bryce Canyon NP. Starting talking to the girl and turns out she was from the same town in MS I am.

Do you need Zion shuttle tickets if you are staying at the Zion Lodge?

If you plan on getting on the shuttle, yes.

From the lodge to the narrows, it is 3.5 miles further along Scenic Dr. If you want to hike the narrows, you need tickets

We actually went on to Springdale, UT which is right next to Zion and then drove a couple hours over to Bryce from there.

Any tips on the drive from Zion to Bryce? Did you go through the tunnel?

Also: Do you have to pay to drive through Zion to get to Bryce from Springdale?

TIA

Just found out I’m going first week of August.

Think we’re going to fly into Phoenix and drive up through Utah. Last stop is going to be Zion.

I’m pumped.

ETA: so I guess I’ll only be going to Bryce and Zion

Been in the area for the last week, did Grand Canyon, spent a day on Lake Powell, hiked Bryce, now currently in Springdale doing Zion! Unreal how each place has a different look to it.

Did y’all have to wear masks on the hikes?

Zion to Bryce - yes, you go thru the tunnel. It takes you due east to Hwy. 89. Both Hwy. 9 and US 89 are in great shape.

From Springdale, you'll have to enter the park to get to the tunnel. The tunnel is in Zion NP.

Enjoy the trip - both parks are incredible and unique.

Yes if you want to hike the Narrows, or rent a bike and make the 3.5 mile trek.

If you want to hike the West Rim to where Angel's Landing starts, you can take a short walk from the lodge to the trail head.

And as stated earlier, Angel's Landing is closed. It gets too crowded due to the nature of the trail, and they simply don't have enough staff working to police it.

The Zion park's shuttle was easy & cheap, but note that getting tickets is a mess. You may be able to get them several days in advance via the online site. If not, you have to try the day before. They are not available at the Lodge. And this is the biggest issue - the WiFi at the Lodge is horrible. You are better off trying to get a connection in Springdale to load the shuttle ticket page.
