Agreed. If you can't look at the USA and be proud of it relative to other nations (which is absurd here) then you shouldn't wear the shirt.

That’s dumb. Good riddance.

Edit: but I respect his decision to quit rather than bitch and complain like the WNT.

Unfortunately Yedlin doesn’t need the USMNT

Those women needed the national team

I’d rather suck arse in international soccer and have players out there that actually view playing as a prestigious opportunity than have a bunch of whiners that boycott the anthem and bad mouth the country.

With very little respect...frick YOU.

You don't have an inkling of an idea as to why these men are boycotting or voicing concerns. You don't have a voice to speak on it if you don't live it.

Whiners...smh uninformed a-hole.

Nobody is forcing him to live in America if it's so bad for him.

Also, when he made the US world cup roster in 2014, we were ranked 15th, so...

I’m pretty confident that most of the people here are much more aware of the details of the boycotts than most professional athletes in general.

frick this guy. both my black grandfathers served in WWII amid actual systemic racism and never disrespected the flag or the country in the way these prima donnas are doing today.

If you dont see a difference in a Weston McKennie and DeAndre Yedlin from a cultural perspective thats hilarious to me. And ironically racist.

McKennie's father is military. Im sure he is proud to play for this country regardless of the fact that he happens to be the same race as ole DeAndre.

Also he can GTFO if hes not proud of that flag on his chest. The USMNT is as much a symbol of American patriotism as it is a soccer organization. Patriotism is almost the only reason it exists.
