Buying a Switch tomorrow. What are the first games I should pick up?

Already decided I’m grabbing Smash because it’s my favorite game out right now but what are the 3 essential Switch games I should play first on the console? Merry Christmas everybody

I’ve heard Breath of the Wild is a GOAT potential game. Is that actually true or just Zelda hype?

BOTW is legitimately awesome.
I agree with Smash and Mario Odyssey.
If you didn't have a Wii U or didn't have the games on it, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Mario Kart 8 are great fun.
Untitled Goose Game is a great afternoon of hilarity.

If you go with Breath of the Wild, I'd get the DLC/Season Pass to go along with it since some parts of it can be discovered from the get-go.
I'd also highly recommend not reading anything about Breath of the Wild since there's a ton to explore and figure out on your own (and you will), and there's entirely too much that can be spoiled by reading or watching videos.
I wish I could go in blind one more time.

Agreed with what most have said. I bought my first switch a few months ago, and it has been fantastic. I have a 5 year old so I wanted the mario games to play with.
BOTW a must.

I didn't want a switch, but the new pokemon game has me itching to get one.
Might be working out a trade for one of my pokemon cards to get the switch and shield tho

same. now I've played LoZ and ALttP on the switch and haven't yet completed either. can't seem to beat the final dungeon in LoZ and am about halfway through ALttP. Can't imagine trying to play this shite as a kid back in the day lol.
