Is this code for something? Seems like we've heard this term a good bit under the Will Wade regime.

I think Days is another spot with a question mark. Saw him in a couple of pre-season draft watch lists. He could take advantage of this being another weak draft class and put his name in if he keeps up this promising start in conference play.

I agree with Emmitt, but I see a lot in Days that Eric Paschall is doing in the league. Similar height and body type and Days can bring a lot to the table -- shooting, rebounding, and defense. I think he has a good shot at being a rotational forward in the league in the small ball era.

Days will absolutely be on NBA teams radar... if he continues in this manner, it'll be this year potentially.

Super high motor, NBA range, NBA body, NBA athleticism. Can defender multiple positions and switches incredibly well. Paschall is not a terrible comp. Could even become a defensive stopper if he continues in this manner ala PJ Tucker or any of those guys. His versatility is coveted right now. Never requires the ball but super effective.

Days draft stock will suffer.

Only the players drafted in the first round of the NBA draft are guaranteed contracts (2 year contract guarantees) at a set amount depending on the draft position.

Any player drafted in the second round or not drafted is not guaranteed anything. In fact, some players may be better off not getting drafted rather than a second round pick as they can try out for teams that are better fits.

If a second round draftee or non drafted player does well enough in summer league or in try outs, they may get a guaranteed NBA contract, a two way contract (2 for each team), get on a G league team (most teams have G league franchises and all NBA teams plan on them), or play overseas. As an example, undrafted Naz Reid signed a guaranteed NBA contract with Minnesota (1 year guaranteed, I believe). A second round draftee, Tremont Waters signed a usually less lucrative 2 way contract with Boston.

Unless a player is a sensation in college and/or has definite NBA physical attributes that fit their position, they are not likely to be one of the top 30 (first round). There are a number of international players chosen each year decreasing the 30 first round spots available to college players significantly.

Because of this, a lot of kids may be making a good decision for themselves by leaving college before the average fan thinks they should. The player will certainly develop their skills more quickly playing ball full time with better coaches in many cases. Also, there is at least one study I recall suggesting each year spent in college may decrease the overall basketball years a body can take. This varies by player of course. Each player has different family money needs and different affinity for the college experience and delight in learning.

Each player has the ability to get NBA evaluations, consultations with their college coaches and advisors, and tries to make the best decision for themselves. As an LSU fan, I would like all our players to stay four years on a selfish basis. But, I think each player should do what they think is best for themselves after doing all the proper research.

I cringe each time when a message board "expert" who doesn't know much about each individual personally, the results of their consultations, etc. declares whether a player should or should not go pro!

Looks like we still have 3 to 4 spots available? Are we planning to fill those spots with incoming freshman or will we look for some JUCO and Grad Transfer players? Should be fun to watch how things unfold.

The coaches can't mention recruits by name, but there are a couple of players that they feel really good about. To fill the remaining 3 or 4 spots, I'm guessing there will be a combination of high school signees and transfers (junior college, grad, and/or red shirt).

I definitely see us going at least 1 grad transfer type route, we're going to need an immediate impact type guy for next year with the expected turnover.
