At the same time, overshadowed by the publicity around the impeachment, is the ever-broadening investigation by William Barr, the attorney general, which the White House sees as a game-changer.

quote:

This has now been designated a criminal investigation with power of subpoena and the possibility of prison sentences for those who have been allegedly involved in criminal actions

And the information being requested has left allies astonished. One British official with knowledge of Barr’s wish list presented to London commented that “it is like nothing we have come across before, they are basically asking, in quite robust terms, for help in doing a hatchet job on their own intelligence services”.

This was designed to be a Trump hit piece but there is a good bit of info in the article, if you can filter past the nonsense.

Who themselves have done a hatchet job to liberty and privacy.

But are they troubled? When people start becoming troubled about stuff the very next step is impeachment.

Our "intelligence" services have been infiltrated by bad actors with allegiance to money and power brokers, not to the best interests of our nation.

They have been conspiring with and assisting others to commit actions that have harmed our nation, our government, our military, and our citizens.

This is the very definition of treason and sedition. Those with an inkling of guilt need to be tried and properly sentenced and those agencies defunded and dissolved.

It's a sad state of affairs but unfortunately that's where we're at.

Said by someone that probably has griped about the over-reach of the US intelligence service at some point.

They are worried about damaging the 5 I's circle jerk of getting other countries intelligence agencies doing dirty work where "home" agencies can't.

Any exposure will embarrass the Brits. Brennan was using them to spy on Trump and the other candidates.

Not surprised in the least that an independent agency with the ability to act covertly outside the law will attract those who are corrupted and enticed by the chance to be rich and powerful by nefarious means. This was to be expected and foretold by Eisenhower.

So no different than our president asking a government for possible nefarious wrongdoings about an ex vice president.
