Accidentally bought some alligator legs and not tail meat.

Was planning on making blackened gator for some visitors (as a novelty appetizer). What do i do? Use these or is there somewhere I can grab some more common tail meat? Seems like most alligator leg recipes are more involved than I was planning for.

You could smother them in a bunch on onions, bellpeppers, celery, & garlic

My local Rouses had it in 1 lb packs frozen.

I used a couple packs to make a sauce piquant that turned out well.

I had the legs done like hot wings and they were really good.

marinate and fry naked
roll in the sauce of your choice or
be creative with dipping options

how big are the legs?

Do you have enough to make a sauce piquant?

Just brine it then blacken it.

Best meat on an alligator is the jaw meat. My brother in law has access to it and its very tender.

Figure out how Bon Temps makes theirs in Lafayette. They do a tasty appetizer featuring twice cooked gator legs with a sweet and sour Thai sauce. Their app is called Swamp Legs, and it's paired with duck legs with mango salsa (Gator left, duck right)

Make alligator soup.

Antoine's make a gator soup that is very similar to turtle soup with sherry. The recipe collection has a good soup recipe from the Plantation Cookbook.

Grill em and eat them like the big smoked turkey legs.

Make sure you leave the foot, toes, and claws on
