Haha...and quite frankly, any one of them could have had it at about midnight Saturday night, but no one offered!

Why are you using what the administration did in terms of tix and seating to compare your experience with fans? Would have made more sense if people were talking bad about the fans and you came to say that isn't what you experienced at all.

Not sure what you’re getting at... yes it appear UT admin did a few things that seemed petty. Their fans had nothing to do with those actions, though. Only reason I brought it up is there are some that would lump the UT admin and the UT fans all together, and IMO I don’t think that should be the case.

I didn’t interact with the UT admin, I only see what everyone else saw as far as their actions, so I can’t speak to if the admin is good people or not. I did interact with and was around UT fans, and they were great... no issues from me with their fanbase whatsoever.

I got suckered to go to a house party here in Austin for the game. The reason I went was the promise of a shrimp/sausage boil with lots of other goodies. While I knew the host and everyone else there, except for my buddy, would be Texas fans I didn't see any reason not to go and show the LSU colors, so I wore my Gold LSU t-shirt.

The minute I walked in the house, the drunk host got in my face about the t-shirt and was so mad I thought he was going to get violent. I just stood there with a smile on my face and let him rant(hmmm?). His wife and a few other folks got him quieted down. Later on he sobered up some and I got him to talking about why his team was so good and gradually he seemed to accept me.

I knew we were going to win the game so I didn't even rub it in when we started to pull ahead. The free food was great and overall I had a great time, met some real nice folks. Life is what you make it. We all have the free will to be a jerk or a good guy.

the Texas AD stuck our team in an oven they call the visitors locker room. Granted I'll cut the Texas fans some slack, but that trick the Texas AD played with the locker room was hitting below the belt.

Below the belt? That "trick" is as old as time itself. This aint women's sports, this here growed man football.

Toughen up buttercup.

For the record, this was the first away game I’ve ever been to where where not ONE SINGLE opposing fan said anything overly “negative” or “derogatory” to me and my group of LSU buddies. and I’ve been to many many LSU away games so I’ve definitely seen some shitty opposing fans over the years. We got to Austin Wednesday night, went out to dinner and out pretty much every night so were constantly surrounded by Texas fans a lot, tailgated all day Saturday in the middle of tons of Texas fans by LBJ library, sat in the endzone in the middle of all Texas fans, and never received anything but nice welcoming Texas fans and the occasional “fun-natured” ribbing. And LOTS of well-wishes and “we’re rooting for y’all the rest of the way” after the game. And oh by the way many many allies on The Texas side in our disdain for Alabama.

I know some are not happy about the visitor ticket allotment, LSU band location, and locker room A/C etc, but I just want to at least point out my personal Texas experience above.

I plan on reciprocating that next season. My group will absolutely be welcoming Texas fans to Baton Rouge and LSU in 2020. We’re absolutely gonna kick their arse on the field (hopefully) and I’ll absolutely be “Tigerbaitin” them endlessly and turning the A/C to 80 in good fun and giving plenty of horns down signs, but We will do our part in showcasing to Texas fans the best LSU has to offer in terms of tailgating, Gameday experience, and a courteous welcoming host.

Proud of our Tigers, what a damn game for us to all be proud of, absolutely one of the better road trips I’ve been on. Life is good in Tiger nation this week.

Despite what you may think or have heard based on our experiences with Texas A&M and their fans, Texas fans have no ill-will towards LSU at all ... quite the opposite actually.

Geaux Tigers!!

I agree 100% texas fans were very nice and never said anything bad but that doesn't excuse putting the band in the nose bleeds and the AC incident and the players talking crap and wearing DBU shirts

Usually that's the case to have pretty decent fans. Except the drunks. I've seen more than my fair share of people ruining game day by barfing all over the 20 people around them. And a few who after a few drinks decide to become an a-hole.

But then you play Notre Dame. Their fans are all complete assholes.

I went to the game and overall, had zero issues with anyone.

Only time was when the people behind me wouldn't shut up about our fake injuries. I turned around and said "if they are down, they are hurt" and was promptly swarmed by about 10 longhorns who lost their shite

It calmed down after a few minutes of back and forth. They eventually left quietly after the onside kick.

"self-glorification"

I have ZERO idea how you got that from his post. Are you saying he was bragging? If so, how? He basically said he was hanging out, tailgating, and sitting in the end zone. I could not tell from the post whether the OP is "regular Joe" or a multi-millionaire. He also didn't make any claims to some particularly virtuous behavior; instead, he recounted being treated nicely and claims he will provide the same civil treatment to Horns fans in 2020, while being clear that he is going to tigerbait them and root for a Tigers victory. How on earth could a fellow Tiger fan have a problem with that?

I was a little baffled by that comment too, my only guess is maybe he thought by me saying I went to game and went out a few times and tailgated and was around Longhorn fans it was somehow bragging???

I dunno. He must’ve been reading quickly and/or didn’t read the whole thing or just had a different mindset than me. My only objective was to say: despite the AC-gate, band location, etc etc, Id like people to know that the Texas fans were class and I plan on returning the favor to them next season. I know a lot of Tiger fans may not have made the trip, and I don’t want some false narrative out there that Texas and their fans treated us poorly, because at least the fans definitely did not treat me and my friends poorly at all.

Maybe the “many many away games” he thought was bragging...I guess, I just threw that in there for context that I’ve been around and seen crappy fans before, and Texas fans were not that.

We did have a few negative fan experiences - one woman shoulder checked me hard - twice - heading in and out of stands right before half time. Broke up an ugly interaction between 3 Texas fans and 1 over-served LSU fan in beer line same time frame.

That said, I hope Texas fans are treated well when they visit Tiger Stadium. I hope their band and fans are seated just below commercial crushing altitude but our fans show them what true sportsmanship and hospitality is all about.

We are famous for our tailgating experience and I’d love for them to see just how wonderful our school and fans are. Bonus is that they will also realize their tailgating sucks, too.

There was racism slurred towards the players. Their fans didn’t bother me too much . They had some assholes outside the stadium. they think they are better than everyone. The ones in the stadium were dicks. They hate the SEC..
