Every restaurant there has a trendy one word name that makes no sense, everything is farm to table, and everyone serves protein

I lived there and used to laugh. Its perfect message board fodder

San Diego has a lot of those places too.

They really like random double words as names.

Salt and Straw
Clock and Petal
Craft and Commerce

Then I don't get the issue.

They could name the dish "frick you TH," but if it's good, I wouldn't care.

Not really.

And I certainly don't care about a place saying protein.

I defended the protein thing and certainly don’t ~care~ but the contrived-ness of some places is still funny to point out.

I like the ones that label the meat section, seafood section, and veggie section like :

LAND
SEA
FORAGED

Chipotle used to ask what protein you wanted...directly after adding 20gs of protein in beans to your bowl or burrito.

That always made me laugh a little

Yup.

I'm 53 and eaten out at places my entire life and it wasn't until 2-3 years ago this shite started popping up everywhere I go.

..and it's CAD so of course people will fall all over their dicks taking an opposing position.

Well usually it comes naturally.

In this case... yeah, still does...

You aren't that important. You complain about dumb things daily, so it isn't hard for normal people to disagree with you.

I have seen this called protein forever. We would goto a Mongolian BBQ in Naperville and all the seafood/meats were called protein.
