probably premature to criticize DC and choice of RB's

On reflection, this is a whole new LSU team. we obviously decided to pass and we needed the best pass blockers at RB. I like clyde, I think he is getting better and better at running and he does a great job of blocking in pass pro.
lots of threads already on the D so I'll just say considering a lot of factors, TOP, the heat, different style of play, early in the year, etc., I need to relax.
helluva an offense, baws!

Correct...it wasn't the time to throw Emery or Davis-Price out there to pass protect. Let them run wild in the next 3 games. By Florida, Fournette should be out of the running back rotation.

Didn't CEH average 7 yards a carry?

The only complaint I had about the RBs is why did LF get so many snaps. People complaining about CEH are just being ridiculous.
IMO We didn’t blitz SE a lot bc we wanted him to throw. I think the staff was surprised he actually could make the throws. I think they used a similar game plan that they used on Fitzgerald from MSU but SE was a MUCH better passer than he was.

Actually about 8 something I think (could be wrong)... Take away his one big run and still avg 4.5 yard per carry..
facts are stubborn things...

nope...we pride ourselves on our Defense and have great talent all over the field.

choice of RB's
yep...we are averaging 50 pts a game and the offense looks great. I think the freshmen will see more time in the next few weeks

Very premature.
First of all, criticizing anything on offense is just asinine. In a shootout, the RB you want in there is the guy who protects your QB the best. I think it worked out for the most part.
Second, even the best defenses get torched by good/great offenses in the game today. Bama got torched by Herman's OSU offense not too long ago. Just last year, Bama got in a shootout with Georgia. This is the game today. We have changed with the times. We can win shootouts when necessary. Texas has been building toward that same OSU offense from when Herman was there. They have a good, experienced QB. We got in a shootout. It's not surprising.

We'll see more and more of the youngsters over the next month. CEH might not be the most talented back on the roster but the coaches trust him to take care of the ball and in pass pro. And let's not act like CEH is some bum. The guy can play.

Agreed, it's only game 2 of a long season.

Anybody wirth half a brain of football sense understands why even Fournette or Guice wouldn’t have played much in that game as freshmen. Texas uses a lot of blitzes and exotic ones at that. Pass protection was more important than anything else.

SE is one of the best QBs in the country and can throw it. In victory, this is a good lesson for our D ti stay humble and work to improve. Clyde is a stud and our young team rb’s will have 3 weeks to learn their jobs better.
