Trump suggested Boeing rebrand the 737 Max. Looks like they're doing that now.

BBC Story

quote:

A Boeing 737 Max due to be delivered to Ryanair has had the model's name changed on the nose of the aircraft, it has emerged. Photos shared on Twitter show a plane in Ryanair colours outside Boeing's manufacturing base, with the name 737 Max replaced by 737-8200. It has fuelled speculation that the troubled Max will be rebranded after two fatal accidents led to a worldwide grounding. Boeing and Ryanair have yet to comment.

A rebrand isn't going to help until they stop them from falling out of the sky.

I think the Ryanair jets are actually Max 8 200s which is a subset of the max 8, which holds 200 seats.

ETA: I don’t think this is a rebrand just a clarification on what Ryan air ordered.

Our President wants Boeing to fix the planes and succeed. He's offering them free expert advice, from a brand identified with success and winning.

Please tell me you’re not this stupid. Reading the entirety of the tweet would have helped you out immensely.

frick off. My comment wasn't a criticism of Trump. Boeing still needs to fix the jet.

I mean anyone with half a brain knew they had to do this. The MAX has too much negative connotation to not rebrand

Yes. RyanAir already had 737MAX's in its fleet. The 737-8200 is the variant on the new (but not MAX body) 800 series 737

People will still find out the new identifier and avoid them. I have to admit that I was reticent to jump on the bad design train, but damn it is like mass producing a boat with holes and offering a free bilge pump with each purchase.
