Friend of mine has an original Belgium made FN FAL. Made in the 60s with that heavy gun metal. Stock and all is solid metal. Shoots great, very few blemishes.

1500 dollars. From my quick research seems like a good price

FALs are a dime a dozen. If its in great shape and what you want, get it. If you pass on this one, nothing lost.

A pre-89 FAL can get expensive real quick. The 1989 import ban really put a damper on foreign rifles. I haven't kept up with the current prices but you can check falfiles.com to check current rates.

One thing for sure is a pre-89 will command more money than a US built or parts kit built rifle.

yes a pre ban FN FAL is a good get.
I have a pre ban uzi model B and while it’s not rare by any means it’s still worth a fair amount and it is cool to have

Yea most similar guns appear to go for 2-3k

Will probably jump on this. Can put it up with a few other older guns I have and let it appreciate in value

why shouldn't you buy that gun
Because it has no real use?

Silly man, buying a gun to own it is all the "use" one needs. I'd buy a Barret M82 just to hang it on the wall...

I'll never understand that. To me, that's like buying hammers to hang on a wall.

I've got tools to fix tools, I'm working on fabricating a wall bracket and hangers for three of my angle grinders and a big VSR drill.

It’s in great shape. Very few scratches, no loose parts, the action is smooth and clean

Even better is watching a leftist stroke out by you buying that in the other thread. Some people are as sharp as a greased ball bearing.
