There isn't one. No one can predict the behavior of a little creature.

Try this one on the OT. Will probably get more helpful and humorous responses.

Drive at night/early morning or during the kids nap time.

Bring you iPad loaded with Disney movies.

Is there anything out there where it can be positioned in place for a rear facing car seat? Instead of someone trying to hold an IPAD for 6 hours where the baby can see it.

I did a similar drive and left at 2am to knock most of it out while he was sleeping. Once he was up we took him out the seat to move around for a bit, 30 minutes or so, then back at it with some movie or show. Just plan to have to stop a couple times to let him/her out of the seat.
I believe they sell pouches that hook around the headrest for the iPad.

Yep, there is a thing that straps it to the head rest.

Op, I read your post as 4 year old. For a 4 month old, just feed it, and it should sleep most of the trip. The other times, have momma sit back there and smile at it.

We traveled 6 hours during thanksgiving. Our boys were 8 months and 3.5 years at the time. Left in afternoon and took us like 8 hours. and tons of crying.

On the way home we left at 9:30 at night. Stopped once for gas and only had one crying fit. Drive at night

4 months old is easy. We took our daughter on a 9 hour drive to in laws at 3 months and then flew to Boston at 4 months. Plus four trips to Oxford during football season as she was older. 11 total car trips when you count the beach etc. At 1 year she has just recently gotten to the point that she knows what’s up. We do an iPad or phone with YouTube (but I have to sit with her to keep it working, otherwise she touches it) hardback books, etc and keep a folded quilt tucked between the car seat and door so she doesn’t drop them to the side. Chick-fil-A’s are ideal for clean bathroom stops.

Keep a spot cleared next to the car seat Incase the passenger needs to hop in the back seat. Otherwise enjoy the frequent naps when they are this young.

Just drive, they’ll sleep and cry when they’re hungry... wife can slip into back seat and feed. You have to stop more to change diaper but that’s about it. Don’t stop if they’re sleeping. They don’t need tv at that age. We did 2 day trips from our home Virginia to Louisiana at that age and earlier.

Drive overnight.

I’ve done Charleston to New Orleans and back twice with 3 month and 6 month old in the last 4 months and that worked best even though I hated it. If they’re sleeping keep going as long as possible to minimize stops.

Some kids are easy. Some are not.

The only thing that worked for our younger one was to have my wife pay constant attention to him.
