Might be a good reason to live within your means instead of running up a lot of debt with nothing to fall back on.

These 800k people can take the opportunity to look themselves in the mirror and realize that they are a “nonessential” asset in a woefully inefficient business.
So Homeland Security is nonessential? You do realize these people are still working? Just working for free.

Are you logged in the wrong account? Stop being logical.

Government employees are oilfield workers who have a steadier paycheck.
They spend it as fast or faster than they get it, especially if they are having to spring for private school because the public schools in the Beltway suck.

MAYBE! So far, the majority seem to be doing the ostrich, hiding their heads in the sand and blaming everyone but themselves for their woes! You'd think they'd take the time to update resumes and skills to be more marketable in the real job market.

You’d think.
Lots of people in civil service are there for life because of the high bar to being fired just short of a felony, the guaranteed leave, and the retirement system.
If they weren’t able to hack it in the private sector before, they probably can’t after being acclimated to such a permissive environment.

Almost all employees (private sector included) are nonessential
Ah yes, but private sector doesn't rely on taxpayer dollars to survive. And when a private sector company starts losing money, often times, they start laying off. It's why people in the private sector save for such occasions.
Fed employees have it much easier. While they aren't getting paid right now, their jobs haven't been eliminated.
Glad you brought up this comparison. Deserves a thread of it's own.

Government jobs are essentially welfare. Many are no account jobs with massive duplication that people can't be fired from regardless of how bad their performance is. It is pitiful.

Yeah we don’t need people emptying trash cans and cleaning restrooms in our Parks do we?
Why are government employees only able to do those jobs??

Nonsense.

I heard the audio interview on radio this morning of one of the air traffic controllers picketing the white house yesterday.
She said 'We live paycheck to paycheck.'
Controllers make 100K a year. If you're living paycheck to paycheck on that you're a moron.

ATCs of all groups should know better than to pick a fight with a Republican President.

Ever think that someone could be in Baby Step 2?
Not saying that is the case for even 5%, but ya'll act like Dave only preaches "save, save, save".
