I think the plan would be to sit everyone you can next week and hope for the best.

Get them healthy for the playoffs.

I think you need to be a little careful with this. Maybe treat it like a pre-season game and put the starters in (the ones who aren't banged up) for a quarter. Three weeks is a long time to not play football while all the teams you're going to face are staying frosty and on their game.

Only one and we are really hurting at WR and have been for most of his absence.

You have Smith step up in a couple of games but is inconsistent. Kirkwood makes some plays but is also inconsistent. TLL may have a splash play once every 3 games. Watson has made some clutch catches but disappears for large stretches. Hill has never been a good receiving TE. Arnold is coming along but still learning.

We need Ginn's experience on the field more than anything else right now.

Tom had 85 snaps at guard going into yesterday. He’s playing guard if unger plays

Really hope this doesn't mean Armstead had a setback. Didn't he practice in the early part of last week and then was a no show before being declared out?

Maybe he is not better than the starters

I watched that play that Clapp was in and he man handled the DT.. I don't understand why he isn't in there..

He's probably not ready yet. He looked good in some spots, but he also got beaten a few times in pass protection.

I thought he looked pretty good for his 1st ever game action, but I doubt the coaches were even planning on him playing this year. I think the plan was to develop he & Tom for the 2020 season...after Unger retires.

That being said...I think Clapp & Tom should keeping developing. They'll probably be nice OG/OC depth for us in 2019. I don't think either of them are ready to be a starter just yet. Actaully, I'm positive that they aren't ready yet.

I think Tom would start at G over Clapp if Unger is back

Armstead will certainly be back soon.

Agreed.
Unger is the key to our OL.

I’ll never understand why it took our staff 2 hours to get to him on the field when he was on his knees and not moving.

Yeah they have to choose between them because they brought tll back.
We did need the wide receiver depth but he always fumbles.
He scares me on punt returns.

I've been saying since day 1 we needed ginn back. Where is chad504 with the trade ginn shite?

Also ben Watson disappears cause they only play him like 40% of the snaps.
I think he should get a little more time

yes unger was a big loss, but you do realize we had our best and longest drive all night without unger in there.

losing Ott and then his backup bushrod are much bigger concerns

Clapp played center in college and can fill in if Unger is out.

They'll probably use Tom as OC if Unger can't play. I'm just guessing, but Brees/CSP probably trust Tom over Clapp to make all the right calls.

Next year could be different though. Tom & Clapp will be competing for Unger's replacement (2020) over the next year & a half. Hopefully 1 of the 2 pans out...it would be nice if we didn't have to draft an OC or sign an expensive vet in F.A.
