Mueller’s interest in Farage comes amid questions in the UK about whether Russia attempted to influence the June 2016 vote to leave the European Union, and Brexit’s most vocal political supporters.
A spokesman for Farage said of Corsi’s allegations: “This is ill-informed, intentionally malicious gossip and wholly untrue.”
Farage has consistently denied any involvement with Russia and has mocked reports that he was facing legal scrutiny. Farage forged close ties with the Trump campaign and White House through his close friendship and association with Steve Bannon, the former Breitbart editor and White House strategist. The Guardian first reported in June last year that Farage was a “person of interest” in the Russia investigation.

Clearly this is within the realms of the Russia investigation. Can Whitaker end the damn thing already?

The UK's starting to take Russia's role in the Brexit campaign seriously now as well. Their election commission has referred Arron Banks of the "Leave.EU" campaign for criminal investigation for being a front for foreign (i.e. Russian) money in the run-up to Brexit.
quote:
The National Crime Agency is to investigate allegations of multiple criminal offences by Arron Banks and his unofficial leave campaign in the Brexit referendum, prompting calls from some MPs for the process of departing the European Union to be suspended. The NCA would look into suspicions that a “number of criminal offences may have been committed”, the Electoral Commission said in a statement, saying there were reasonable grounds to suspect Banks was “not the true source” of £8m in funding to the Leave.EU campaign...
A series of reports, led by the Observer’s Carol Cadwalladr, have uncovered links by Banks and his leave campaign to Russia, prompting speculation about this being the source of some of the funding.

Across the pond they saw it play out in the media how it could influence and rile up the base. They got jealous and decided to recently go all in as well even though the Brexit vote was in 2015. Better late than never.

There is one reason why Brexit occurred: millions of working-class Labour voters deviated from their party's position due to concerns over the economy and immigration. Merseyside, Sunderland, the West and East Midlands and Yorkshire are not Tory strongholds, but all of these places had high Leave percentages. Mueller and the Russophobes in this country and across the pond are doing their constituents the ultimate disservice: instead of a self-critique of where they failed, just blame a foreign boogeyman. It's no different than Arab dictators blaming everything on Israel instead of fixing their own problems.

I agree to an extent. The UK is going to get what it deserves in this case (and needs to live with the consequences of Brexit).
But if Banks directed Russian oligarch money into a UK election in violation British law, he should go to jail, right?

The British population for about the last 6 or 7 years had been very dissatisfied with the diktats coming out of Brussels. The only area of the county that liked it were the people in and around London
The Russians are the b.s. boogeyman. Thus far nothing that has come out shows any collusion/ coordination with Russians and Trump....lots of dead ends. Some shenanigans as it applies to stuff posted online but nothing of substance

Next month we will hear that Mueller is investigating Russia's ties to Hitler and the partitioning of Poland.
