Date Night Restaurant in BR / Lunch in New Orleans with Kids

My wife and I are coming in with the kids for the UGA game...excited to take advantage of some free babysitting from my Mom while in BR. I moved away in 2006, so what’s a good restaurant for us to go to one night when we leave the kids? Nothing super fancy - I’m not bringing anything fancier than jeans and a button down. Preferably some Louisiana cuisine - we live in NJ so are surrounded by quality Italian food.
On maybe the same note - where’s the best place to get crawfish etoufee in BR these days?
And finally, taking the kids to the aquarium on Friday. Any recommendations for lunch in that part of town?

In BR for a date night:
Soji
Kalurah St Grill
Beausoleil
City Pork Brasserie
For etouffee, I default to Chimes. Parrain’s is good too (same owners).

When are you looking to go to dinner?
If you are trying to get in anywhere on Friday night, good luck without waiting 2-3 hrs.

I think it is better than it was 5 years ago, but there are better choices if you have not been to town in years...

How long have you worked at Gino’s?

I just looked at her post. Apparently only Gino's, Ruth's and French Market are any good.

As far as the Aquarium, you are at the edge of the Quater, so there are loads of places in walking distance. You could hope on the street car too. Happy hour at Domenica in the Roosevelt is a good option for kids. Half-priced pizza.

Third.
Get the seafood gumbo and the Catfish Billy when you go. You won't be disappointed.

As for lunch with the kids on Friday, just take them to Juan's Flying Burrito or Filipe's rather than try to deal with the crappy, expensive, inconsistent tourist traps while lugging rugrats around the French Quarter.

Johnny's Po Boys on St. Louis is very good. I'll get killed for this but Mother's would probably be good with kids. Very touristy but you are, technically, a tourist.
