Looks like you need to camp out in the woods for 3 days leading up to the opening morning.

Nothing about that deer says down hill. Hell of a buck, regardless. Just don't bump him opening morning. You might never see him again.

I had him and another big 11 last year, I ended up deciding to hunt my bow stand new years eve in the freezing cold with a 15+ mph wind and shot the other one walking to my stand... crazy thing is is the deer watched me walk in on a skitter trail then started walking toward me and I shot him head on at 40 yards in the chest... needles to say he dropped and I thought I put it in the pumping station but when I walked up to him he about whipped my arse and I had to put it to him again.. after I shot him the first time this guy ran off about a hundred yards behind him and I had no clue he was there.. I think the deer just got his arse whipped by this one because he had two fresh punctures in his neck and one by his eye and he may have wanted to come whip my arse for it lol

Straight luck and being at the right place at the right time

Well he should be getting close. The first pic was two years ago and I'd say he was 3.5 or so there, but he still doesnt show any sag in his back and doesnt look old... I do have what a appears to be some of his offspring with their second set of horns and they are gonna be some nice deer

He was at that rice bran pile 3 days ago at 8:30 in the morning. Got a little front coming through next week. You should go then.
