While Breath of the Wild is more in the vein of what people want, they want more games of that quality and scale. Whenever there's only 1-2 games like every few years, it creates a hunger for things that don't come often. And the thought that no one makes "games like that" whenever both of those games depart from Nintendo norms by taking from popular Western games.

Quantity doesn’t equal quality. EA and Ubisoft produce shite tons of games, but save for 8 to 16 year olds everyone is like “oh great, they’re selling me the same thing I’ve played dozens of times.” You’re asking Nintendo to halfass and simultaneously double the size of production.

And those so called “popular Western games” have been done so much and the dumb fricks will buy the same stale shite, where Nintendo can look at it and go “they’ve gotten complacent, let’s use their weapons against them and build a better evolution to that concept.” It’s what all companies do that are worth a shite. The enemy is complacency.

Better is subjective for sure, but Splatoon and Arms were high quality, innovative, and built on pretty popular genres.

One could argue BotW as well.

but Splatoon

This game ruined shooters for me, I seriously can't play one anymore without thinking I would rather be playing Splatoon

ETA: I'm not getting labo, not my thing, just like arms wasn't my thing... But you know what? PS4 just released God of war and I couldn't care less, I can't expect every game released on a console is going to be one I will enjoy. Mario tennis however? Oh yeah, sign me up!!

This x100.

I just don't get the concept that "Nintendo should be making x, y, and z every year, otherwise they cater to kids and suck." Heck I wouldn't want a GTA every year, as cool as that sounds. I'd rather RS branch out and try some new stuff. "New" is certainly subjective as well, but again, I'm fine they haven't made a Red Dead in a decade. I'm pumped for the new one. They aren't a bad company for that specific reason.

I just want to hear what people with complaints like that expect from Nintendo. What would the next 5 years look like ideally? What would the next system look like and why?

I spent the better part of this afternoon putting together the RC cars (super easy and quick) and the piano (very involved and time consuming) with my son and my gf daughter. We had a great time doing it and really enjoyed experimenting with the discovery piece. If you have kids, this is a definite thing to get.

I love Nintendo but I would like the following if we are taking orders

1 more complete Zelda game on Switch that is not released so close to the next console release that it can be ported over on the release date

A new Star Fox 64 sequel. I want to be in the cabin of something, blowing shite up, and doing a barrel roll. Not running around with a staff and not given a another rerelease of 64.

I think Metroid, Megaman, and Smash(a lock) appear to be in the works so no problem there.

Maybe more of their Gameboy classic titles getting a grand release on Switch like Golden Sun.

Another sidescroll Mario Bros cause those are the tits.

FZero, Viewtiful Joe, and a Banjo Kazooie (knockoff or tweak) since they lost Rare basically a fun Adventure RPG like a Crash or Gex, or Conkers.

This sounds like a good starting point for me

They have said no FZero cause there's no other way to grow that game. It is at its ceiling of ingenuity.

That was Pectus, not Nintendo.

You won't see another f-zero because:

That is the one and only reason
